You know what I did when I wanted a design/ref? I made a mood board and a collection of reference images for specific things I liked for outfits, hair, etc. Artists have every right to deny ai references it literally steals from them??

@dyrewoof Did I dismiss that concern? I'm saying we still rely on technologies with known environmental costs. Fossil fuels was the best example.

@Void_Checkpoint the use of data centers which use drinkable water is already causing major effects in comparison to fossil fuels that have taken far more time to show damage!

I reject requests that have AI references, the reason is not only that i do not support AI, but you also do not know if the AI just generated a stolen design from another artist. If you are not a artist and don't have a reference i recommend using moodboards / collages / picrew

@JuWowis @faenibun That's not what I'm saying. My point is about consistency. If consent is the standard, then why is fan art or using random pinterest images as references often treated differently when not every creator has consented to that either? That's the gray area I'm talking about.

@TenkoKamiVT I mean, they should disclose if they used it in their art. To be honest, it depends. If you're disabled and run it through something to smooth out, say, finicky lines, I get it. But if I'm commissioning art, I want the art to be handrawn, since anyone can generate themselves

Would you want to know if an artist you commissioned has used AI and has no problem with using AI in commissioned art? I just saw a creator post an amazing art piece, went to the artists commissions page and it says -(1/2)

@Jtkitsboy84 Thats the same thing and i use it. Thats what im talking about. Its both a voice changer + a text to speech. I usually try to perform it to make it sound more lifelike.

@Jtkitsboy84 Sure if thats what i was trying to accomplish. Alas its not. Have you ever had a vision or idea how you want certain characters to be? If so you'd understand. Sometimes it just doesn't work out without enhancements. Watch a video instead of just blindly judging though.

I mean you can used your voice without using female tone especially it’s sound like a femboy voice tone. You could try it if you you don’t have to hire the voice actress.

I'm gonna be blunt: we have all these no-name VTubers that either haven’t even debuted yet or that nobody outside their little circles knows exist, along with artists in the same niche. They're running around threatening everyone who uses AI with social repercussions and blacklists. The fact that nobody has heard of most of these people until they throw a tantrum on social media should tell you all you need to know about how realistic their threats are and how seriously anyone will take them. Most of these clowns don’t even know how half the shit they’re screeching about actually works and spout talking points that are extremely outdated, haven’t been true for years, or are just flat-out factually incorrect or deliberately misleading. Nobody with a functioning brain will take totally ignorant, uneducated twats like these seriously beyond a nod and a wink, because inside they’re trying not to shit themselves laughing.

Generative AI is not ethical. Not in Vtubing, not anywhere. It is built on a foundation of stolen work. It pollutes the air and waterways. It overruns electrical grids. It steals water from working families and ecosystems. If you know all this and still use it, why???
