You’d be hard pressed to find mainline Spider-Man comics grapple with adult themes like this anymore. Peter Parker used to be a person who experienced the real struggles of growing older and settling down while being a superhero at the same time. Now he’s perpetually early 20s.

Like I’ve said before, I like Batman a lot, but I don’t think there’s anything conceptually special about him that incentivizes him having so many runs and taking spotlight from other characters in the DC library.
He was fortunate enough to have some damn good adaptations both in television and film which generated an audience for his comics which were also doing well in the Bronze Age and post crisis. Ever since he’s been treated as the king of DC despite the writing for his books in the past decade barely touching the level of prestige he once had.

We’re going to have a hard fought election to try and take the Senate after Trump did the craziest shit I’ve ever seen from a sitting president. Given the war will be over before November, the Dem generic advantage might even be far less than the current 6%
