Because this comes up a lot, I am going to do my best to describe a GAN (Generative Adversarial Network), in my example both Alex and Betty are AI. A GAN is a popular AI model for generating AI art. Imagine you have two children: one named Alex (the Artist) and another named Betty (the judge or "Art Critic"). You give Alex some crayons and paper and ask him to draw a picture of a cat, while Betty has a book full of pictures of cats. At first, Alex's drawings might not look much like a cat at all. He shows his drawings to Betty. Betty, looking at her cat book, tells Alex, "This doesn't look right; the ears are too big and it needs whiskers." Alex goes back and tries again, this time making the ears smaller and adding whiskers. He does this over and over again, each time listening to Betty's feedback and trying to improve his cat drawing. Meanwhile, Betty is also getting better. As she looks at more and more of Alex's drawings and compares them to her cat book, she becomes a better critic. She learns to spot smaller and smaller details that aren't quite right. Over time, through lots of iterations and feedback, Alex gets really good at drawing cats. He gets so good that Betty can't tell the difference between Alex's drawings and the pictures in her book. Eventually you don't need Betty anymore or her picture book because Alex has learned how to draw cats over a long learning period.

@CarnivoreKing88 Dude, why are you manually repeating, do a small loop. ``` for (int x = 0; x <= 2; x++) { for (int y = 0; y <= 2; y++) { for (int z = 0; z <= 2; z++) { } } } ``` you trying to smooth a voxel mesh or something?

OpenAI o1 is now out of preview in ChatGPT. What’s changed since the preview? A faster, more powerful reasoning model that’s better at coding, math & writing. o1 now also supports image uploads, allowing it to apply reasoning to visuals for more detailed & useful responses.

Its absolutely rich that Neil Druckmann has THIS much hubris to insult the work of others. Reminder 1: Last of Us 2 is one of the most plot-hole-ridden, out-of-character and poorly conceived excuses of a "story", and Neil Druckmann tries and continues to lie to himself that he's a storytelling master. Reminder 2: Amy Hennig and Bruce Straley - carried Neil in Last of Us' writing. Druckmann got rid of Amy and Bruce after the Success of Last of Us 1 (which was celebrated and praised by many gamers for its story). There's a lot of reason to form a belief that Neil got rid of Bruce and Amy and took credit for most/all their work on LOU1. So: Bruce and Amy co-wrote LOU1, it was universally acknowledged as a great impactful story. Neil kicked them both out and soloed LOU2 - and it has become one of the messiest and most poorly executed stories according to most LOU1 fans. Really makes you think. It certainly did for me.

Ever found more air than chips in your chip packet? More air, less product, same price. It's called shrinkflation, and it's ripping Australians off. We’re fixing it, making sure you get good value at the checkout with stronger unit pricing and big penalties for supermarkets doing the wrong thing. There’s more to do, so we’ll keep working to get you a fair deal at the checkout.

“Prominent activist Monica Smit has been ordered to pay more than $200,000 in legal costs after a court found she was unlawfully arrested during anti-lockdown protests in Melbourne in October 2020. Ms Smit was awarded $4000 in damages after two of her three claims were successful, but substantial costs were awarded to the Victorian government on Friday as she had turned down a pre-trial settlement of $15,000. “We did get a fair hearing but I don’t think this is fair,” she said. “Do you think it’s fair for someone from the public to win their case and then have a $200,000 costs order against them? I don’t think people know that this happens — I don’t think that people know that this is the risk people take to stand up to authorities — and now they’re going to know.” The 36-year-old sued the Victorian government for false imprisonment in July. The County Court of Victoria on Thursday ruled two of the three arrests were unlawful, as the government had failed in those instances to prove the elements required under section 458 of the Crimes Act for summary arrest. Ms Smit spent 22 days in custody on charges of inciting others to attend the 2021 protest. Those charges were eventually dropped, and she was later found guilty without conviction of breaching Covid orders." ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• So let’s get this straight. After getting unlawfully arrested twice by a totalitarian thug, Monica seeks justice only to be slapped with a $200,000 bill for doing so. Just like our political system, our judicial system is sadly lacking in integrity. It’s no wonder people are losing faith in our Institutions. And Bravo to Monica for fighting the good fight. Your courage is to be commended. Quote from: news.com.au/lifestyle/real… #auspol
