Been waiting to tune into the @LACity Charter Reform Commission meeting that was supposed to start at 3pm this afternoon for almost 80 minutes now, but it hasn't started yet. Anybody home?

There's a lot of downtime at the Charter Reform Meeting in CD8 today (many folks are running late) so a couple commissioners seem to be working out a possible motion ... related to vacancies?

I just wanted to personally thank Commissioner @cfuentesrun for the effort to introduce a motion to clarify the Charter Language at yesterday's Charter Reform Commission. Although it didn't pass, we still want to pass on our gratitude for the motion to empower young Angelenos.

LA Unified School District is officially an advocate for lowering the voting age to 16! This Tuesday, the Board of Education unanimously passed a resolution reaffirming its support for lowering the voting age to 16 for LAUSD Board elections and elections in LA & Culver City.

The LA Charter Reform Commission, in its final motion of the night, voted unanimously to pass the Mac-Meza motion on language access below.

In a close 7-2 vote (Morrison, Stein opposed), the LA Charter Reform Commission approved the Meza-Fuentes public bank motion below.
