It has been an honour to serve Sedgefield as its MP, and I will continue to do so until May 30th. Thereafter, I will cease be the MP for Sedgefield and will become the Conservative parliamentary candidate for the new constituency of Newton Aycliffe and Spennymoor.

Why does a state-owned monopoly need to splurge £5,500 of taxpayers’ cash on canapés & drinks in Parliament so MPs can mingle with state-owned rail bosses? With railcards up 16% & unregulated tickets up over 10% on state run trains, it’s a slap in the face to passengers up and down the country. If nationalisation is going so well, why does it need a canapé reception for Labour & @Heidi_Labour to sell it to MPs?🚆🥂 express.co.uk/news/politics/…

Kemi’s media interview today was interrupted by the kind of people that shout loudest at the Hate Marches. You know, the ones that aren’t polite enough to wait ‘til the end, then ask a question, then to actually listen to the answer. This is what happened.

Kemi Badenoch put a visibly rattled, time-wasting Prime Minister under real pressure, as Keir Starmer slipped into full Dalek mode trying to explain himself to the Commons. Badenoch did not miss a beat. This was one of her strongest PMQs performances yet.

After 14 months of relentless campaigning, Labour has been forced into a partial u-turn on the Family Farm Tax. Throughout this difficult time, the @Conservatives have consistently led the fight in parliament and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with protesting farmers AGAINST the tax. Rural communities should never have been put through such levels of distress, pain and panic.

You would think that an MP with a significant farming and business community wouldn’t vote against the inheritance tax changes for farmers and family businesses. Well apparently not, unlike some others in his party my successor voted against his constituents. #familyfarmtax

A day of shame for Labour… Labour MPs just voted to keep Rachel Reeves’s cruel Family Farm Tax. I am totally disgusted. This could be the end of British farming.

🚨Tonight, there will be a vote on the Family Farm and Family Business Taxes. Labour MPs have the chance to stand up for our farmers and family businesses and vote AGAINST this tax. If you are from a Labour constituency, please contact your MP urgently with your concerns and encourage them to vote against it. The @Conservatives will vote to AXE the Family Farm and Family Business Taxes.

"Public services now need to live within their means because I'm really clear, I'm not coming back with more borrowing or more taxes." [Labour’s Rachel Reeves to CBI, November 2024] Please share this widely…just in case she is tempted to forget…

This week’s tube strikes will not be a one off. Labour are passing laws to make sure that strikes are more frequent, last longer, and with less notice. We will all be held hostage by the trade unions. Do we really want more of this?

Newly elected Labour MP’s had the chance to put farming families before party politics in Parliament this week. They refused. After 5 hours of debate in which they could have raised concerns about the family farm tax, here’s what they said instead ⬇️ 1/2
