1-3 out on Day 1 with Affinity. Think I really misread the meta, prepared (and teched) for Goyfs and Dimir. Should have just played Jund — live and learn.

@Kapala_mtg Interesting, I liked Ravenous over Landlore. Ran a pretty similar list.

Played my friends Christians list in the qualifiers too. When tested the deck I had great results vs meta, but had terrible run myself. Rooting tomorrow for my friends, teammates and dad 😊

Qualifier weekend day 1: Went 3-3 with affinity. Deck is great, landlore navigator thrives in the meta. Played poorly and fully deserved my record. I'll get em next time. Time to root for some teammates who made day 2 now😁. @fireshoes

Getting both Daze and Force of Will as Mystical Archives is wild. Timeless is basically going to be Legacy now.

@BasicMountain It’s the Garfield of the magic community. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But the more you know the game the less funny it becomes, all the jokes are surface level things we’ve all heard ad nauseaum at locals. Would be cool to have a more competitive focused magic strip

At the risk of whatever, the whole "charm" of Cardboard Crack is that the dumbest person you know can be confident they understood what the joke was supposed to be. I would caution against trying to divine some sacred truths from it; I would caution against reacting at all.

Top 250 because this month’s qualifier is a format I actually want to play. Laddered on easy mode with Alchemy MomoBirb

@DravenCorvinus @fireshoes A) that’s a problem on its own, but b) Evangel is a card that should always be on the radar for interactions regardless. Heck, Primal Prayers combo is still around, that’s essentially the same interaction as Food Chain just with more steps

(For what it’s worth I don’t think Food Chain needed to be banned from a power-level standpoint, Historic is very balanced right now. It does make for terrible game patterns though and would have been a nightmare in next month’s Qualifier, so I get it)

I’m sorry this is absolutely inexcusable. You forgot to check the interaction with Evangel? That’s a card that should be on your radar for every single card added to Historic! Heck, Primal Prayers combo is still a viable deck with essentially the same interaction!

@wildstwawberry (Turns out, Krang? Not great! Decent 1-2 of as top end and a good sideboard card for grindy matchups, but it’s slow and you never want it in your opener)

what if instead of Formidable Speaker it was called Formidable Freaker and when it entered the battlefield it sucked your toes

Still trying some Cards but the deck works well, can be really fast while also have some grind. Ambergris and Barrowgoyf were great additions, Manifesting a Moonshadow Is gas. @Vottoast GGs even though game 3 you got screwed

@tangotiger Also, umps are human. Winning a couple challenges early could lead the home plate ump to call a tighter or wider strike zone for the rest of the game.

@tangotiger I think that's mostly correct but I also think there are factors that make challenging early (regardless of score) more valuable than challenging late. For one, winning challenges early gives you more opportunity to use your additional challenges in good base-out situations late

When it comes to ABS Challenges, both of these statements are true A. The base-out situation is important B. The inning-score is IRRELEVANT The first is obvious Explain to me why the second is true (and it is true)
