One could argue he had never won at anything. But maybe the freedom of having nowhere to be and to enjoy the wind pass through while taking cover in the shades of trees planted long before his birth was indeed a kind of success richer men had never tasted. And as the phone buzzed with notifications of likes and comments he simply turned it off and looked up to the clouds, grateful for his body’s strength and his youth not going to waste. In that moment he was a winner unlike anything the world had ever seen.

People love to make fun of countries managing to manufacture 30 year old tech, but for most practical purposes this lets you do anything you would conceivably want and catching up is a lot easier than starting.

When imports of Western computers were impossible, Galaksija published the blueprints for a home computer (the "Galaksija") in a special DIY edition. The result? Thousands of people soldered their own boards. Most computers had no case, so they lived in cigar boxes, wooden crates, or custom metal frames. "Naked" computing at its finest. Before the internet, radio shows like Belgrade's Ventilator 202 broadcast software straight over the airwaves. You simply held a cassette recorder to the speaker, recorded the static, and there was your new program. Beyond the tech, the magazine was a visual trip. @elgoog1954 @eimaikifas Um actually, that'd be an autocratic version of a Bulgarian. Feudal fragmentation is what got us five centuries of Turk domination. Feudalism is incompatible with autocracy because the latter necessitates some form of a centralized governing system, which we wholy lacked.
