The New York Times is reporting that Rubio and Ratcliffe told Trump the idea of regime change was unachievable while General Caine concurred. Vance told Trump that starting an unnecessary, unprovoked and existential regional war with Iran was "a bad idea" but Trump started it anyway. The next day, U.S. intelligence pushed back sharply. CIA Director John Ratcliffe called the regime-change scenario “farcical,” with Secretary of State Marco Rubio adding: “In other words, it’s bullshit.” Gen. Dan Caine told the president: “This is, in my experience, standard operating procedure for the Israelis. They oversell, and their plans are not always well-developed.” Trump dismissed regime change as “their problem” — but remained focused on targeting Iran’s leadership and military. By Feb. 26, in a final Situation Room meeting, opposition inside the room was clear but fractured. Vice President JD Vance warned the war could spiral and drain U.S. resources, but ultimately said: “You know I think this is a bad idea… but I’ll support you.”

💢📰 REPORT | New reporting from NYT reveals how Trump decided to go to war with Iran — after a closed-door Israeli pitch and despite deep internal divisions inside his own team. At a secret Feb. 11 Situation Room meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented a four-part pitch for regime change, including a video montage of potential replacement leaders such as Reza Pahlavi. JD Vance was absent, stuck in Azerbaijan. Appearing alongside Mossad chief David Barnea and military officials, Netanyahu argued: Iran’s ballistic missile program could be destroyed in weeks. The regime would be too weak to close the Strait of Hormuz. Street protests — fomented with Mossad help — could trigger an uprising. Kurdish fighters from Iraq could open a ground front in the northwest. Trump’s response: “Sounds good to me.” Trump’s response: “Sounds good to me.” The next day, U.S. intelligence pushed back sharply. Vice President JD Vance warned the war could spiral and drain U.S. resources, but ultimately said: “You know I think this is a bad idea… but I’ll support you.” Rubio said regime change was unrealistic, but destroying Iran’s missile program was achievable. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was the biggest proponent of war and backed immediate action. Military leadership outlined risks, including depleted munitions and the threat to Hormuz, but all stopped short of opposing the plan. Key officials responsible for managing the fallout, like the Treasury Secretary, and DNI Gabbard were notably absent. Trump went around the table asking advisors their view, then made the call: “I think we need to do it.” The strikes began two days later.

Reporter: Deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure violate the Geneva conventions and international law.  Trump: Who are you with?  Reporter: I'm with the New York Times Trump: Failing New York Times. Circulation is way down. Reporter: Are you concerned that your threat to bomb power plants and bridges amount to war crimes? Trump: No, not at all. These are disturbed people. Quiet. You no longer have credibility. You’re fake.

Susan Abulhawa @susanabulhawa talks about what she saw and felt during her visits to Gaza during the ongoing violence. She went there twice. On her second visit, she also organized writing workshops. In these workshops, she helped people, especially young writers, express their thoughts, pain, and hopes through writing. Video: tehreer.o.tasweer

You thought Epstein Island was bad? Israel built the only military prison in the world designated for children. Children are subjected to beatings, torture, and rape on a regular basis. Conviction rates in courts reach 99.7%. This applies only to non-jewish children.

And there you have it. They tried to overthrow the government by arming a resistance group. The government fights back. Then they invent a completely fictitious number, like 40,000 civilians dead, as if the government is just killing people for the hell of it. There is zero evidence of that whatsoever. Then the narrative shifts from “we have to save the people” to “we should take the oil.”

Trump: We sent some guns; they were supposed to go to the people of Iran. You know what happened? The people we sent them through kept them. I am very upset with a certain group of people, and they will pay a big price for that.

The US told us that the Iranian government killed over 30k of their citizens during the January protest. Iran told us that they didn't kill Iranians but rather, it was the protesters that were killing people. Here the US is admitting to having sent guns to the protesters but it seemed like the guns didn't get to the protesters even though it did. So the protest was actually violent as the protesters were also armed, given the possibility of them killing people just like the evidence of Saleh Mohammadi killing two police officers. The US will fund terrorism in your region and when you hunt down the terrorists, they'll accuse you of murdering your people and use it as a pretext to invade you.

This excuse for cutting off all power and bridges to 96 million Iranians (the population we're pretending to save) -- "they're animals" -- is verbatim the excuse given by Israel as to why they were cutting off all food, water and fuel from entering Gaza ("they're animals").
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Q: How would it not be a war crime to strike Iran’s bridges and power plants? Trump: “They’re animals.” That’s the justification right there. x.com/clashreport/st…
