@Top100Rick @CPowers14 To Jack’s credit - he knew he was slow over the ball and hustled between shots to be ready to play when his turn.

@CPowers14 Is that the beginning of his setup? Jack was known as slow and given lots of shit for it.

We all engagement farm old school pace of play porn too much (see: Trevino video on 12), but this one is really jarring. Greatest golfer of all time took 17 seconds to pull a 1 IRON, struck the shot 26 seconds later and damn near holed it in the final round and went on to win. This time next week Cantlay is going to take 60 seconds to decide between 5 and 6 iron from the same distance, 60 more seconds to waggle over it before hitting it, then making par as he sits 3 shots off the cut line.

Jack Nicklaus on the 15th hole during the final round of the 1975 Masters. 230 yards with a 1 iron. So good.

As Shoemaker gets lit up by social media, it's important to note some context: 1. She had major arm surgery last October after playing through "excruciating pain" for seven months 2. She's 100% physically now, but she's still fighting a mental battle, trying to convince her brain that there won't be pain 3. Pre-injury, Shoemaker was "one of the fastest players" USC coach Justin Silverstein has ever coached. “Just trying to reassure myself that there isn’t pain anymore,” Shoemaker explained. “I’ve been struggling with it for the last four months, just being fully committed to hitting the ball.” Added Silverstein: “It’s not easy what she’s going through as far as being able to swing comfortably and confidently. She’s taking it back and her brain is still firing like it’s going to hurt, and that’s how she played all last spring.”

“This is part of her routine” I would have already been on the green waiting before she pulled the trigger.

@KylePorterNS Dude - it’s the most generic, committee written statement imaginable and this is your response?

@dilanesper True which is one of the corrosive things about picking people based on those factors (as Justice Thomas has noted). When you announce, e.g., I’m only considering “x” don’t be surprised when you invite this skepticism.

The white Justices are simply not judged in the same way. When they make a dissent that people see as loopy, they nonetheless receive a modicum of respect. It's only the Justices of color who get attacked as "stupid" for this.

One more response to people saying Justice Jackson is stupid. One of the claims is that she's too stupid to know her dissent in Chiles today is inconsistent with prior cases. Well, Justice Alito once issued a lone dissent in a big case completely inconsistent with prior cases.

@BobHarig Nice, enjoyed but not sure about the sentence re: US Open at Pebble, “After a slow start that day, Nicklaus made five straight birdies through the 7th hole.” You’re a hard grader if there’s any slow start in that 👍

@rickjeff78 @TWlegion Ha! It was Ridley as chairman of the competition committee who threatened to make a mockery of the tournament by letting Tiger play after signing incorrect scorecard in 2013.

@TWlegion If Masters had any integrity they would ban Tiger from Augusta.

📺⛳️ #UPDATE — CBS Sports President David Berson was asked about how they will handle coverage of Tiger Woods during The Masters broadcast, while acknowledging they still don’t know if he will play or not. “It’s obviously a big topic. I first want to just say that thankfully nobody’s injured. That’s the most important thing coming out of the news from this past week, and I definitely want to lead there.” “As for Tiger playing or not playing or being in Augusta, not being in Augusta, we don’t have information and it’s not fair to anyone for us to speak about it or to speculate. We just won’t do that. He and his team are going to have to be the ones who speak about it. It’s only fair if that’s the case. So we hope you’ll respect and appreciate that, but we just really don’t want to speculate on something.” “Listen, Tiger’s a story, obviously, wherever he is, but our job during the tournament itself will be to cover the tournament. Tiger obviously has a tremendous legacy at Augusta National with all his Masters victories and his voice in the sport. So of course, we’ll touch on things as necessary as news dictates, but for coverage of the event itself, we’re going to cover the event.”

@martensmatt1 Man - this dude is really pissed that Obama appointed Ketanji Jackson to DC District Court. I’d say he’s a little late to the game though.

@martensmatt1 @DeTahmineh 26 trials to get you into American College of Trial Lawyers? Jesus have the standards fallen. Look, I get it that real civil jury trials are rarer today than even 20 years ago but to act like this is some kind of record of a guy trying cases all the time is silly.

@Will_N11 Weird thing is that somehow Tim Tebow, who was only about 1000k times more known/popular than this dude, managed to go to classes, be a teammate, be social. Hmm.
