@EdFuller_PSU I left the elementary classroom after 15 years to be an elementary PE teacher because I thought it would be easier. The “outside contract hours” stuff is easier, sure, but the mental exhaustion that comes with nine classes of small children a day is… a lot.

@ShaneMLantz Also, when you do your various observations, practica, student teaching, etc., try to experience lots of different settings/subjects/teachers even if it isn’t required by WGU. Even now (almost 20 years later), I learn the most by watching other teachers teach and interact w/ kids

@ShaneMLantz I also had small kids when I went back for my MA so I did a lot of my coursework at night, but found that was a good time of day for my brain to focus. Try coursework at different times to see what works best for you (my “optimal brain” time changed from undergrad).

Starting my WGU English Education Master’s Degree program on August 1. It feels so weird to be going back to school. I’m nervous, but also pretty excited for what I hope is an 18-month journey. Any advice from working adults who have gone back to get their degree?

@clhubes We needed a quick window covering for our laundry room when we moved in because it also has a toilet, so I put up an extra shower curtain since we had the little rings and the previous owners left up a curtain rod there. And I just… never replaced it. That was 11 years ago 🫠
