قدمت ممثلة برنامج الأغذية العالمي ومديرته القُطرية الجديدةفي العراق، السيدة شيلا ماثيو، أوراق اعتمادها إلى رئيس دائرة المراسم في وزارة الخارجية العراقية، السيد محمد هشام. ويؤكد البرنامج بالتعاون مع الحكومة العراقية لتحقيق النجاح في جهود التنمية لصالح #العراق وشعبه.

تسلّط الورشة الضوء على أفضل الممارسات والحلول العملية التي يمكن أن تساعد العراق على أن يصبح أكثر قدرة على الصمود أمام الصدمات غير المتوقعة، وضمان أن تكون أنظمة الحماية الاجتماعية مرنة وسريعة الاستجابة وجاهزة لدعم الناس في الأوقات التي يحتاجون فيها إلى ذلك أكثر.

اليوم أطلق برنامج الأغذية العالمي ورشة عمل لمدة 3 أيام حول بناء أنظمة حماية اجتماعية قادرة على الاستجابة للصدمات في #العراق. شارك ممثلون رفيعو المستوى من @IraqiGovt و @EUinIraq في النقاشات، حيث تبادلوا الخبرات والأفكار حول كيفية الاستعداد بشكل أفضل لمواجهة التحديات المستقبلية

The workshop presents best practices and practical solutions that can help Iraq become more resilient when faced with unexpected shocks—ensuring that social protection systems are flexible, responsive, and ready to support people when they need it most. 2/2

Today, WFP kicked off a 3-day workshop on building shock-responsive social protection systems in #Iraq. Senior reps. from the @IraqiGovt and the @EUinIraq joined the conversations, sharing experiences and ideas on how to better prepare for and respond to future challenges. 1/2

في كلمته، أشاد معالي الوزير بجهود WFP في إدخال وتنفيذ الحلول القائمة على الطبيعة، مؤكداً انسجام المشروع مع رؤية العراق الاستراتيجية للأمن المائي والتكيف مع المناخ وحماية التنوع الحيوي. المشروع نموذج ناجح قابل للتكرار والتوسّع، ويعزز الشراكات ويوفر منصة علمية للأجيال القادمة.

قمنا بافتتاح موقع العفرا للحلول الطبيعية (NbS) باستخدام تقنية الفيتوتكنولوجي في ميسان مع معالي وزير الموارد المائية، وبحضور قوي من الحكومة المحلية والشركاء. يُظهر الموقع حلولاً مبتكرة ومستدامة لتحسين جودة المياه وتعزيز القدرة على مواجهة تغيّر المناخ.

The Minister praised WFP for advancing nature-based solutions, affirming alignment with Iraq’s strategic vision for water security, climate adaptation & biodiversity. The project is replicable, strengthening partnerships & offering science-based approaches for future generations

Today marked the inauguartion of the Afra NbS phytotechnology site in Missan by the Minister of Water Resources, with strong participation from local authorities & partners. The project showcases innovative, sustainable solutions to improve water quality & resilience 1/2
