@1990sUtd I went on the Ross Travel flight. What a crook. He said tickets were included but he only had a few for a whole flight and had to hide in with the pilot.
I got one, down the side of the pitch. Police let hundreds of ticketless United in top deck behind the goal.
Cracking day.
English

The first big foreign jaunt post-Heysel saw Reds wind up locals with "Swing low, sweet chariot" after Eng's Grand Slam vs France, & Monty Python's song became the anthem as Utd marched into the semis

#OnThisDay in 1991 After drawing 1-1 in the First Leg, Manchester United needed an away victory against Montpellier to progress to the Cup Winners Cup Semi Final Goals from Clayton Blackmore & Steve Bruce achieved exactly that 🎙from Brian Moore

@JohnHundeslit @MikeWarland @JHenryCDF Most Welsh speakers converse more in English than Welsh. It’s nigh impossible for anyone to exclusively use Welsh yet widespread for Welsh people to exclusively use English.
I support the Welsh language (my kids are fluent) but not forcing it on people.
English

@MikeWarland @JHenryCDF Because many English-speakers live in Wales.
English

Useful information for Welsh speakers. English speakers, however, will of course continue to use the English names. Unless Mr Henry calls India 'Bharat', or China 'Zhōngguó'. Are we going to start telling the Spanish off for calling us 'Reino Unido' next?

@WelsbyElton If I picked a team of all the players I’ve seen live, he’s the goalkeeper.
English

Underrated ??????
He was widely regarded as the best in the world from the mid 80s and then Peter Schmeichel took over about '92/'93.
90s Football@90sfootball
Neville Southall was such an underrated goalie! 🧤
English

Durham. Given the size of the place you’d expect them to have a team at least on par with the likes of Gateshead and Darlington

What's a big city that doesn't have a big football club?
English

@FBAwayDays All Premiership teams. England’s top flight is just a money laundering machine that don’t care about fans. it ain’t the best league in the world nowhere near as good as it was ten years ago. Players caring more about their hair and pay packets.
English

@Cantona_Collars Was in the South Stand for that. Thought it might get lively in there but we had no mither. We weren’t exactly inconspicuous either, especially when we scored. Great day.
English

@jimbriggs2_jim I got in.
Had one aborted attempt when I went to Luton and made myself a member with a made up address in Hitchin. They said my ticket would come by post!🙈
Still got a ticket through a mate. It was plastic, like a credit card. In the main stand. Lots of United in there.
English

14th March 1987 & a trip to play Luton Town. Despite there being an away fan ban there was still a good number of United fans to see a 2-1 defeat. Mick Harford & Brian Stein scored for the Hatters with Bryan Robson scoring for United. #ManchesterUnited #ManUtd #MUFC #UTFR #GGMU

@OGG7uk @MothinAli I used to go to Harehills a bit. Had a bunch of mates there that used to drink in the big Irish Centre on York Rd.
Irish families living in back-to-back terraces. I thought the bottom end of Harehills was all like them.
It was rough there tbh.
English

@MothinAli Last time I was in Harehills I was mugged... says a lot...
English

@CptPeeWee No, it’s a fantastic city and a great night out.
That Steep Hill is a bastard to walk up though.
And pissed as a fart, I fell down a flight of stairs in a hotel there. I was in fancy dress as the lion from Waizard of Oz. Broke my ankle and got a blood clot.
English

Should We Despise Lincoln?
Other than that little incident, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
(Jeb Smith, Abbeville Institute) - From what has been shown throughout this book, it would seem obvious that we should. No single man in American hist… southernnation.org/p/should-we-de…

English

@weareBCSRF I’ve got no interest in watching the fuckers. I never really know when or who they’re playing tbh (unless they’re playing us).
English

@LovelyGeezer65 Enjoy what you’re doing.
Sadly, the Premier League is now a money and tourist obsessed shit show.
I went The Den both times when you were last up. Great days.
English

@FootballInT80s He had a testimonial for Scunthorpe against United at The Old Show Ground. Can’t remember the year. Typical testimonial that end up about 5-4.
We went to it. Not many did but Paraffin Pete showed up so we looked after him for food and drink. Good night out.
English

@karl1953howman Like most decent people, you won’t be as poles apart politically as you think. Most of us want fairness. We just all have different opinions about what that is and how it is achieved.
English

I have been best mates with your ex for forty years and we are poles apart politically, never had a cross word Michele and being a labour supporter doesn’t mean I am not aware of all the mistakes they make and I am the least luvvie there is😂Hi👋🙏
Michèle@Brookland1st
@SarahCholwill @TheRealJamieKay @karl1953howman Typical luvvie!!!!🤦
English

@pgaskell13 Thought someone else had done it now as well. Possibly another two teams?
English

@ArmatradingJoan Kin’ell I forgot you existed. Incredible voice.
Don’t you come from St Kitts & Nevis. One of my best mates’ family are from Nevis.
Oh, and I’ll certainly be watching that film. I remember the original documentary. Funny and desperately sad in equal measures.
English

@WillHayCardiff Well delivered yet substantially flawed and demonstrably factually inaccurate in multiple major aspects.
English

You need to watch this.
Don't let anyone tell young people aren't thoughtful and don't engage with social issues.
My news letter was in Cardiff talking to people about Reform UK.
Watch this incredible Welsh lad explain why some young people turn towards Nigel Farage's party.
Articulate, clear, compassionate.
