Another experience: Another faculty job interview involved a faculty member stopping me in the middle of my seminar presentation and saying what I have done and plan to do isn’t important. A few others piled on. Turns out I was a pawn between warring factions in the Dept!

First generation immigrant from #Mexico. Been here almost 18 years. Completed a master's and PhD and now head of a department at an R1 institution. Have worked with countless #rural communities in the US & enjoy college football and thanksgiving. Have several great US friends.
