WEIRDEST GAME TO EVER GET HIT BY THE NOSTALGIA CYCLE. LITERALLY EVERYONE HATED THIS GAME LIKE IT KINDA KILLED THIS ERA OF ASSASSINS CREED SO BAD THEY HAD TO REBOOT. I DINT THINK ANYONE GAVE IT MORE THAN A 4/10

With #MGSVol2 being announced, yet again everyone is remembering #TwinSnakes with rose tinted glasses. Though I'd like to see it made playable today for preservation, a reminder to everyone.... It's the worst version of MGS1, other than looking prettier, every change is bad.

@JeremyBurgess9 They were bought out by Game, and basically cannibalised their own business. They had to shut down 50% off all stores in the UK in like 2013. Physical never recovered

IMO: Physical Video Game Media in the UK started ToDie when Gamestation went away You went in not just for a Game, but for the experience Great Prices Game Merch, not just Funkos Boxed PC Games, Guides, Statues, Retro Section Staff always knew what they were talking about

@demon_dolI Sad times. I left after Mike Ashley purchased the company, but prior to that had some great times. Never felt like managing staff, so much as working with my mates. I still stay in contact with most of them and also met my wife whilst working there 😊.

I feel kinda sad seeing this. I used to love going into game as a kid. spending ages flipping through the pre-owned games bin for the right game, saving up my pocket money/birthday money for a brand new game. sad that it just became a funkopop slop shop

@countryfdbk @demon_dolI Sad man. I ran one just after it got bought by Opcapita. Had a right laugh. Pay was pretty rubs for staff, but I used to give out all the managers freebies to staff.

@demon_dolI I worked at one back in its prime and it was a genuinely miserable place to work, running on a commission structure with no actual commission but massive reprimands if you didn’t hit targets. Good riddance

You can disable it on some consoles to allow gameplay recording on capture cards, but then the console disables apps like Netflix until you turn it back on.

@JimmyCully @Gh0stFactory @Rob271_ I started working for GAME just as it was bought by Opcapita. Eventually managing a couple stores. For a little while it was great, but the decisions from up top were insane. At one point we had three tiers of middle management that all did the same thing.

I was manager of Gamestation when GAME owned it and this happened the first time round. Was heartbreaking having to close half way through the day knowing we’d all lost our jobs. Then they asked us to “pack up all the stock” so it could be moved to other stores 👀 So you know what happened with some of that stock don’t ya? 😜😂 Was like we’d won Supermarket Sweep going wild in the aisles! Well….we didn’t get any redundancy money did we!!

I think we romanticize how well the Fable franchise executed on its selling points in the past. Don't forget, you can't really plant a tree from an acorn, your muscles don't actually grow as a direct result of using a big sword, NPCs can't steal quests from you, your child does not take over as the playable character if you die, you can't rub your gold all over your body, and it's never been an open world. Every promised feature was inevitably truncated and simplified or completely absent, but now we love it anyway. As the new Fable draws closer to release, try to remember that unrealistic expectations and over-promising are practically a part of the franchise's identity. Be patient, trust the process, and be kind in your criticism.

Ecstasy and other derivatives can cause the kidneys to stop excreting water properly. Drinking too much can cause brain swelling. So stay hydrated but not too hydrated.

Played some Freedom Fighters today for the first time in 20 years. I can't believe how freaking well it holds up. Any chance of a current gen port @IOInteractive or maybe a @NightdiveStudio treatment? Would love to play on current hardware, get access to the multiplayer on PC.

@PeterP_1985 I think more of a testament to the developers and what you can achieve when a studio spends time growing talent, optimising, working within the limitations of the hardware etc etc. There are plenty of Cryengine games that run terribly (especially on console) including KCD1.

Amen to this. Brilliant on console, as Nib has highlighted below, and from a PC point of view, it is also brilliant. Can scale up to look really damn good, has a perfect frame time, and does not suffer the woes of some UE games related to traversal or shaders.
