@bestcricstories @iamnotakshayr Talking about quality…Official jerseys are available through team stores, but in many cases the difference between the licensed product and what’s sold outside stadiums isn’t significant enough for fans to justify the price gap. That impacts sales more than people realise.

@thebharatarmy Love it! Clean and minimal. Personally would have liked a contrasting colour for the highlights along with the whites to complete the look. The back also reminds me of the Nike 2011 World Cup jersey, which is a nice ode to one of our biggest moments.

@chandsumit Thanks bro! There’s no fixed mandate for a new kit every ICC tournament. It usually depends on the cycle and the brief, but chances are there will be a new one before the 27 WC.

@Waaquib Great work bro, loved how the jersey’s have leveled up since 23. I copped the 23 WC and the champions trophy kit that we have. Is there a mandate that each ICC tournament will have a new kit? Or do we expect this current ODI kit to run through till the 27 WC?

@rachnadhall @shubh_chintak Agreed. It’s not structured for that, and the need for a CD isn’t even recognised. A tender goes out, best bid wins, and the result is predictable with an agency. Teams like ours won’t win those bids, but could we change the game if given the chance? Heck yes!!

When I see a team in blue or red, I am just disappointed because its an opportunity lost to do something new. But if there is one color I hate, then its every team trying to bring in that shiny gold in their kits. Its pretentious. Hope PBKS bin the golden pads and helmet this season.

In IPL the system has been more conservative, so most teams stay within a safe, familiar template. Personal take, the shiny gold in IPL jerseys should be banned - its tacky!

#IPL teams seem to have moved from a blue obsession to a red one. Strange how franchises still struggle to get jersey designs right. Talent isn’t the problem; creative freedom probably is. Maybe @Waaquib, who designed India’s current Adidas kit, can explain what really goes on.

@anandvasu Design is subjective.What works for one person won’t work for another, and sports fans are probably the toughest audience. We do push for innovation, but this is still a service.The final jersey has to fit the limitations,brief, the brand, and what the client is comfortable with.

@Waaquib @64MohsinKamal (2/2) the font size of the player name shrinks and as the length of the name increases, it looks so bad. maybe there are some limitations from bcci to use only this specific font. the best font on indian jersey was from the 2010 jersey.
