Chipotle announced they were having a buy one get one free deal between 3p-4p for a day. People started lining p around 2:00 to participate in the promotion. At about 2:40pm the manager at the Bronx chipotle shut down the store and did not open again until 4p. The manager then told the people who have been waiting in line for 2 hours that the promotion was over and they were not doing the buy one get one deal. What’s messed up is they knew they weren’t going to participate yet they did not tell anyone nor did they have a sign saying they weren’t doing it either. Since the kids have been waiting there patiently, shouldn’t they honor it anyways?

I’m there too with 6”. No extra hands. No Jedi cloaks half the time. Star Wars is the one license where everyone connected (from studio to vendors), is asking too much of from the consumer. And they have additionally diluted its retail value while raising prices.

There’s an interesting case study to be had about nothing in sports feeling legendary anymore. I don’t think it’s a nostalgia thing at all, I think it’s the rise of social media and accessibility so we move on from everything immediately.

@AHiddenAccount @dveese I do Facebook marketplace. It’s cash and I live in NY so it’s got a lot of other collectors locally. eBay is cool when something isn’t selling, but I haven’t had an issue getting the price I asked do any of the recent stuff. It moves. I meet at a target though. Not my home.

I agree we are heading for a mass purging of figure collections on the horizon. Not real soon but that hangover is coming. Especially for GenX collectors who have been on that FOMO train for so long. Reminds me to get back to work trying to stay a head of it with some stuff.

@dveese Everyone sees the same fits rotting until clearance at every target. They are smart to do this. Toy collecting bubble hasnt burst, but it’s a much tinier bubble. Over saturation of product in stores and in the rooms of collectors.
