HEROGEEK wants to bring heroes back.
This would NOT Fly today. THIS is exactly why X-Men '97, to me, isn't a continuation. It's a twisted abomination wearing the bloody skin of the original cartoon. I refuse to watch it, and it's personal because Nightcrawler isn't just my favorite X-Man, he's one of my favorite Marvel characters, period. And I just know they ruined him. I know it with every fiber of my being. They took the most essential, vibrant part of his character—his unwavering, profound faith—and they swept it under the rug like it was something to be ashamed of. They reduced it to a footnote, a quirky trait, because the idea of a hero finding strength in genuine belief is too "problematic" for modern writers. They didn't just do a disservice to Nightcrawler; they completely ignored the entire arc of that episode for Wolverine. That story wasn't just a standalone; it was a pivotal moment for Logan. It forced this hardened cynic to confront the concept of real faith through his friend. The potential follow-up, the way it could have reshaped his worldview, is gone. Vanished. They'd rather have him make another dry one-liner than actually explore the depths of his soul. It's pathetic how easily the consoomers were fooled. They're just junkies desperate for a nostalgia fix, and the moment they heard the theme song, their brains shut off. They saw the familiar art and immediately declared it a masterpiece, completely missing that they were being fed a hollowed-out version of the original. They don't want to see the truth—that it's a cynical cash-grab made by people who quietly despise the source material. Admitting it's bad would mean admitting their childhood is being desecrated, and they can't handle that. So they cheer for the abomination wearing their hero's skin, happily consuming the poison because the frosting tastes like a memory. They weren't looking for art; they were looking for a fix, and they got played.

It’s been 6 months since I went into the hospital and had to have fluid from around my heart drained, since my heart was tryna crush itself and kill me😭. Found out the Fluid was caused by cancer and it’s stage 4. Having strokes, blood clots, tired all the time. The next month, in December I had to have the same procedure done again and was hospitalized. I have been on cancer treatment for 5 months and I have become so stable and much healthier! No strokes or clots. I am able to manage everything now :) I of course have my off days but I am feeling so much better! I am so thankful for modern medicine and the doctors at MD Anderson who have helped save my life and allow me to live my life 💗 Fuck cancer, and I’m too cool to die rn

ReadComicsOnline didn't help preserve comics at all; it just served you 50 porn ads while you looked at other people's preservation efforts. There are other sites that emphasize downloading and are much more efficient in making sure comics last forever.
W@WeaponNR

Losing ReadComicOnline wasn't fighting piracy. That was burning down a monument. There's so many comics that are just gone now. Things that never got a reprint, old stories no one cares to preserve. Reminds me of how many silent films are gone forever.

EDUCATION, POVERTY, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING ARE DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL In America, a vast and intricate web of socioeconomic forces binds income levels, poverty rates, economic mobility, and opportunities into a self-reinforcing cycle that shapes entire communities. Lower-income households often face limited access to quality education and stable jobs, which stifles upward mobility and traps generations in poverty. This economic pressure frequently leads to higher rates of single-parent households, as financial strain, relationship instability, and lack of support systems erode family structures. Without two incomes or shared parenting responsibilities, resources stretch thinner, reducing the opportunities available to children—from after-school programs to nutritious meals—creating a feedback loop where poverty begets more poverty, and the promise of the American Dream feels increasingly out of reach for millions. These economic and familial realities cascade directly into public health crises that shorten lives and deepen despair. Poverty and single-parent stress correlate strongly with obesity and diabetes, as families rely on cheap, calorie-dense processed foods amid time scarcity and food deserts in low-income neighborhoods. Chronic conditions like these elevate cancer risks through inflammation, poor preventive care, and delayed diagnoses, while overall life expectancy plummets in affected areas compared to wealthier ones. The daily grind of instability—juggling work, childcare, and survival—fuels unhealthy coping mechanisms, from sedentary lifestyles to emotional eating, turning personal health into a casualty of systemic inequality. What begins as an economic shortfall becomes a bodily one, with entire populations bearing the physical scars of limited choices. Nowhere is this interconnected tragedy more stark than among America’s poor Black population, where these factors converge with historical and cultural weight to amplify disparities in abortion rates and beyond. Higher poverty and single-parent prevalence in these communities drive elevated abortion rates, often as a response to unplanned pregnancies amid economic uncertainty, further complicating family stability and mobility. Yet the cycle persists: reduced opportunities compound health burdens, lower life expectancy, and entrench generational poverty, while the absence of robust support networks leaves communities vulnerable. It is a sobering portrait of how income, family, health, and opportunity are not isolated statistics but threads in a single, fraying tapestry—one that demands we see the human cost of disconnection if America is to mend it. An informational thread on food, nutrition, physical, mental health and wellbeing👇
