@maryorelse @Janderso549 @853london Looks like Calvert or Annandale roads : unless they change them as well 🤔

@Janderso549 @853london No right turn into Vanburgh?? - so going home eastwards will be down to the Angerstein roundabout and back - fine - but it adds a mile extra in the car which I am very guilty about using anyway. Hey ho - sorry - will continue to try not to go out. (Old people MUST stay indoors)

@DocManniday @cafc472 @bruin_bear @Royal_Greenwich So Disabled Drivers? We will expect it to be hard then? Can you tell me how we are punished yet again. Our cars ARE our legs.
English

We've installed these in west Greenwich to make streets safer & more pleasant for everyone.
✅All homes are accessible by car.
🚑Emergency vehicles have access.
⛔️But drivers can't use these streets as a through route.

@JoyW4243 @Royal_Greenwich Exactly! I was doing 20 and the amount of tooting I got. And this is on the left lane - agree with you. I ain’t breaking the law for noone. 👍🏼
English

@Royal_Greenwich When will cameras go up on the lower road in charlton where it's now 20mph? Must admit it's hard to stay at 20mph whilst everyone is whizzing past at 30+?
English

From Monday we'll be using CCTV to enforce certain traffic offences.
Warning notices will be issued for two weeks from Monday 24 August.
After two weeks, enforcement will begin and fines will be issued.

@JamesARathbone @made_seen Exactly. I’ve had my BB for 11 years after a stroke meant I can only drive with the left side - amazing what they can do with modifications to keep us ‘survivors’ mobile. Thank you 🙏🏼
English

@WalkBroad @made_seen We do have an existing database of Lewisham Blue Badge holders though, so the adminstraive burden and costs are lower than a complete “resident access” scheme - and Blue Badge holders have a demonstrable higher need IMO.
English

There’s plenty of people with legitimate concerns about the L&LG #LowTrafficNeighbourhood - worries about increased congestion elsewhere, hospital access, and people with disabilities for example. I don’t share these worries but they’re not unreasonable.
And then there’s this.

English

@JamesARathbone @made_seen Fantastic, keep us posted. Reason I ask is the blue badge is not assigned to a specific ‘car’ - is the specific ‘person’ who has the disability. Extra paperwork etc for the Congestion Exemption, which I have, but it is definitely worthwhile. Fingers crossed. 👍🏼
English

@WalkBroad @made_seen Councillors have asked officers to arrange for registered blue badge holders to be granted access via the ANPR camera gates as they have a demonstrable higher need.
English

@JamesARathbone @made_seen Good. As a blue badge holder and volunteer at the Hospital, I would be very interested in what it will be.
English

@made_seen Evidence and experience suggests that congestion in adjacent areas is a short term effect of traffic adjusting, hospital access is retained for everyone and emergency services have improved access via quieter roads and the ANPR gates, and we have plans for blue badge holders.
