Reports that Keir Starmer to appoint Sadiq Khan to House of Lords. Why does a socialist PM still make people ‘lords’ in 2026? Why does a socialist Mayor even think of accepting? Labour 2024 manifesto promised to ‘replace’ the Lords with a ‘more representative second chamber.’ What happened to that pledge? Labour has a massive majority and should be able to push through long-overdue radical reform. Or just abolish it. But like every PM before him Starmer has found it convenient to keep the Lords largely as it is (bar getting rid of hereditaries, a modest change). In this case ‘elevating’ Khan to remove him as a leadership threat.

You can no longer hide behind being a Jew as an excuse. You have allowed antisemitism to engulf your party. The buck ends with you. Either you are a cowardly appeaser, or you are antisemitic yourself. How can a Jew be antisemitic you ask? Well you tell me. You’re from a working class background and went to a Jewish school where you were bullied by middle class Jews. It’s entirely possible you resented them and internalised stereotypes about them, which you don’t believe apply to you as you see yourself as an “outsider” to the community due to the bullying. It’s a pattern seen many times. Every Jew knows an antisemitic Jew.

For whoever needs to hear this I'm the only Jewish person to lead a political party - third largest in the country. The Daily Mail have been & always will be my enemy - they historically supported fascists & continue to do so. I'll take no lectures from them on Antisemitism.

Quite amusing that right wing are getting upset about the number of people praising Keir Starmer for his responsible navigation of current issues. Their immediate thought is someone's either funding it or telling them what to say. Doesn’t occur that people genuinely think this!
