It’s interesting how few Hornets fans had really pushed for Dell’s jersey to be retired, it almost seemed to take Dell himself by surprise. Typically, jersey retirements are reserved for star or franchise‑cornerstone players, and that’s probably part of why momentum never built. But this honour goes beyond his playing days. It reflects the broader impact he’s had on the organization over the years, especially through his long-standing role in broadcasting. It’s great to see the announcement met with universal praise and appreciation.
