@AndiPetrillo Read an excellent article about this topic from Dr Laurie Santos. Researchers studied facial expressions of silver and bronze medallists during the medal ceremonies and found. differences in how athletes ‘looked’ when given their medal. ‘Win’ bronze and ‘lose’ for silver.

The psychology in team sports behind winning a bronze and losing a gold continues to fascinate. Canadian women put up the biggest fight when it mattered most and will go home silver medalists. Hilary Knight gets her fairytale farewell as USA take the gold.

@CraigBaird Didn’t seem getting any tribunal award in favour of Canada was in the cards.

Across Canada, some provincial borders are defined by geography. Some along meridians and parallels. And some due to provincial and international arguments. Through the next week, I will explore the history of our provincial borders. Today, it is British Columbia. 🧵 1/7

Weather called for a Buffalo-style with crispy Ezzo pep and Italian sausage. Crispy, fluffy, soul-warming:

#ONStorm #ONwx 🥵 SIZZLING SUNDAY IS HERE! August in October rolls on across Southern Ontario today with summer-like heat stretching across much of the region. Widespread highs are climbing into the upper 20s and even low 30s this afternoon. The Ottawa Valley is expected to be the hotspot, with some areas near Ottawa pushing close to 32°C. A few 30°C readings have also popped up around Simcoe County, making it feel more like mid-summer than early October. Most other regions are sitting comfortably in the mid to upper 20s, while areas closer to the lakes are slightly cooler thanks to the lake breeze. This will likely be the peak of our late-season “heatwave,” as temperatures are set to dip a bit on Monday ahead of a strong cold front moving in Monday night into Tuesday. Once that front sweeps through, it’ll send temperatures tumbling back to more seasonal levels. And by Thursday morning… we might even be talking about frost risks for many areas. Sorry, summer fans, it looks like the October chill is on just around the corner. - Brennen

Overnight radar loop/trend till 9AM this morning. Scattered showers continue to move thru EONT, should clear in the next few hours. A mix of sun and cloud seems to be the overall call for today. although, thin smoke at high levels will be entering the picture from NONT.
