I don’t think it’s irrational to say don’t have 4 kids if you can’t afford a three bedroom house. That’s a very normal middle class home. Most homes have 3 bedrooms lol. Kids are expensive - that should be the bare minimum.

In my opinion it just gets a little weird when at the preteen age boys and girls are sharing a room.
I think it’s fine for kids to share rooms - but it needs to be split by gender unless there’s a significant age gap. If you can’t afford a three bedroom house you can’t afford to be fertility-maxxing.
