‘I AM OVERJOYED’ Ikinalugod ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros ang pagkakapasa bilang batas ng RA 12312 o “Anti-POGO Act” na tuluyan nang nagbabawal sa operasyon ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) sa bansa. “As chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, I have long called for the abolition of POGOs in the country, having seen and exposed how this industry abused and exploited not just people, but also institutions,” saad ni Sen. Hontiveros. “With this law, the government has a clear duty: to ensure that no POGO will ever turn the Philippines into their criminal playground again,” dagdag pa niya.

I’m confident that once she becomes president, she can multitask: pursue the corrupt while still accomplishing a lot for the country.
