Hans Niemann is the Champion of Grand Chess Tour Super Rapid and Blitz 2026! The Godlike eSports star Hans scored a critical win over Radoslaw Wojtaszek in the final round, winning the tournament with an amazing score of 22.5/36 points. Hans Niemann earns 13 Grand Chess Tour points for becoming the clear Champion, will take back home USD 50,000. What a performance by Hans - he topped the Rapid section, had a tough first day of Blitz, and even after a tough loss in Round 16 against Gukesh, he went on to win the last 2 rounds of Blitz and win the tournament! After achieving a 2828 performance at the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss, I had hoped 2026 would bring more invitations to top-level events. Unfortunately, despite reaching out to several organizers, no opportunities have materialized. As a result, I’ve been competing in open tournaments instead. Over the past 15 days, I played in both the Semana Santa Open and the Menorca Open, winning each with a score of 7.5/9. To tournament organizers: I remain very interested in participating in strong closed events or leagues, and I would greatly appreciate any invitations. Please feel free to get in touch.

Samay Raina is worse than Burhan Wani - the Islamic terrorist. Both detest the same people. Difference? Burhan Wani hated "others - Kashmiri Pundits" who happen to be Samay Raina's ancestors while Samay Raina hates the same. Both detest the Kashmiri Pundits. Now You Decide

If only $NFLX paid that amount to @MagnusCarlsen to play the World Chess Championship, it would've made many times more $$$
Ilya Merenzon@merenzon

Today’s fight between @chesscom and @TakeTakeTakeApp is NOT about the platform. Because it’s timed around the Netflix release, it’s a PR play for both, but also the fact that chessom paid $83 million for Magnus Carlsen. He probably used some of that money to build the competition. And contractually, he can't say a word about it.

So l actually just looked this up and apparently it's true.. middle children are dwindling. In the 1970's, it was common to have three or four children. Today, almost 65% of women with children only have one or two. So the "middle child" is becoming increasingly rare. The fact that middle children are going extinct is the most middle child thing I've ever heard.

In today’s era of rapid technological advancement, strong anti-cheating measures are essential to protect the integrity of chess. They may feel demanding, but ensure games are decided by skill. There have been times of doubt during games, but existing rules make it difficult to speak openly—highlighting the need for stronger systems. These measures must be applied consistently across all FIDE events, including the FIDE World Cup and the Chess Olympiad. I appreciate FIDE’s efforts in the Candidates and request they be standard in all major tournaments.@FIDE_chess

My performance in the last few events has been quite disappointing, not just for me, but for all of you who support me. In order to find my best form my team and I have decided that I should compete with slightly less intensity over the next few months. Consequently, we feel it is in my best interest to skip long events away from home to allow for more dedicated training time. With this in mind, I approached the Grand Chess Tour organizers and asked to play only two European Rapid & Blitz events. They were very supportive and understanding, and we agreed that I would participate in the Rapid & Blitz tournaments in Warsaw and Zagreb this year. I’m very grateful for their support. Respectfully, I am not planning to play any other events during the Grand Chess Tour schedule and will certainly be back for the full Grand Chess Tour in the future".
