It's a cold damp start with a little light rain which is now fading away. I was thinking today would be wet but radar is looking very thin now and the band of rain has broken up. So dry at first today with spells of rain later. A windy day but becoming milder, high 10c #Brampton

Well an odd day. Wet weather has just never materialised. Only 0.2mm recorded despite the weather warnings. Still time later I guess but something is amiss. All the info I saw was for a thoroughly wet day not only in central lakes area but throughout Cumbria? #Brampton #Cumbria

My first Painted Lady of the year in the garden today

WEBS at longlands this morning, Kingfisher on the river was the first outside of winter. Lake very quiet with no cygnets and only 5 ducklings. Also heard sedge warbler and redstart #webs

Just come back from a weekend in Bergen and 2 things I was impressed with. All dogs must be on a lead in the city and any national parks and the coach driver has a breathalyser attached to the engine of the coach and he can't drive it away if he has had a drink.
