Not really… that ethanol value chain creates jobs for thousands of people… it creates opportunities for thousands of small scale sugar cane farmers… it’s a source of tax revenue for the govt… & it most importantly, it cuts the fuel import bill… Here is 25 L of bioethanol for sale in South Africa… Cost per litre is about R35 ($2.04) ….. Indeed the price can be negotiated further, but it’s not really the driver of fuel prices at the moment….
