I dont want a wasted season like we had when Gomez left. That yr we started so promising then fell off because we couldn’t replace him.

Completely agreed with this. With slightly better finishing and a worse gk performance, RSL could’ve easily scored > 6 goals in that first half. It was absurd.
The real bummer about it, though, is that we likely only have a few more games of these five together.

Thinking about yesterday’s RSL game… I do think this is the best attack in club history. We’ve never had a team that was capable of playing attacking soccer quite like RSL did in that first half, with all of the interchange between Luna, Gozo, Guilavogui, Solans, JuanMa, etc

@royalriothayden @smartman0728 From what I know, there’s a specific club in England who really wants him, is offering him a great salary (which we would be willing to match), and is willing to pay a solid fee for him. And he wants to go and is publicly saying so. At that point, what can ya really do, ya know?

@smartman0728 @WasatchSentinel Yeah Gomez was around 10M before add ons.. and I doubt those add ons actually hit. But I’d expect at least 10M for Gozo. I’d be disappointed if we sell for anything less.. although I don’t think it helps with him going on interviews and telling the world he wants the move now.

@WasatchSentinel You guys scored, that’s the advantage. It downgrades. If you don’t score there yes after the play finishes there’s a yellow. But you scored. Out of everything to complain about this game this is just textbook advantage.

@inactive1871 Please show me where IFAB says that if a player commits a tactical foul to stop a promising attack (in this case, grabbing and ripping a players’ jersey), that the caution is no longer given if a goal is scored.

@WasatchSentinel Not according to IFAB, it has to be reckless in nature. If it’s purely tactical, which is subjective and in the opinion of the referee in this case, then no caution after the goal. Refereeing is not quite so black and white in the case of being subjective on what’s tactical or no

@inactive1871 Attempting to stop a promising attack with an unsportsmanlike foul is a yellow regardless of advantage being played and regardless of a goal being scored.

@WasatchSentinel Let me be more clear about it, if it’s only being looked at as stopping a promising attack then it is. Now if we want to deem it reckless then yes it would still be a caution. I believe in this case it’s only viewed as an attempted SPA and gets downgraded to no caution.

@SpiffCoug I will say that we did seemingly get away with an offside goal or two against San Diego… but yeah on this sort of thing, it does frequently go against us.

@WasatchSentinel Like I said last week of it’s a controversial call, RSL won’t get it. So many calls the last few years and seemingly all see RSL on the wrong side of them. Possible Red on an opponent? No call. Soft PK awarded to an opponent? Every time. Discouraging as a fan.

Well, the refereeing was extremely shit this evening. But this is a bad LA Galaxy team that we should've beaten, regardless of who the refs were. Two losses in a row after six unbeaten is a real bummer.
