Later, I met with the new @@nea_kenya Board Chairman, Mr. Geoffrey Kipkoech Maritim, during a meeting at the State Department for Labour and Skills Development.
I underscored the critical role of the National Employment Authority in creating and facilitating employment opportunities for Kenyans both locally and internationally.
I also highlighted NEA’s mandate in the registration and regulation of private recruitment agencies, which remains key in protecting job seekers from exploitation and ensuring orderly labour migration.
I further noted that strengthening public confidence in the institution should be a key priority for the new leadership.
This can be achieved through enhanced transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery as NEA continues to position itself as a trusted gateway to employment opportunities for Kenyans.

On the sidelines of Spring Meetings 2026 organised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group at Washington D.C, I held fruitful discussions with a team of senior directors at the World Bank on how Kenya is paving the way globally for Global Skills Partnerships through the successful design and implementation of the Kenya–Canada partnership in the healthcare and food processing sectors under the NYOTA project.
The team included Ms. Iffath Sharif, World Bank Group Director for Social Policy leading global strategy and partnerships; Mr. Suleiman Namara, Practice Manager for Social Policy for East and Southern Africa; and Pablo Acosta, Lead Economist in the Social Policy unit and Global Lead for Migration at the World Bank.

I addressed the UDA Coast Leaders Caucus held today at the Swahili Cultural Centre, where I outlined key achievements of the Kenya Kwanza Government under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
I highlighted the progress we are making in job creation through programmes such as Kazi Majuu, Kazi Mtandaoni, Kazi Kwa Ground, and Kazi Baharini, which have expanded employment opportunities for Kenyans while also boosting remittances to the country.
I also spoke about key reforms, including the Recognition of Prior Learning programme, which formally recognizes skills acquired outside the traditional education system, and the NYOTA Programme aimed at transforming one million youth into entrepreneurs. In addition, I underscored the impact of initiatives such as the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Affordable Housing Programme in improving livelihoods.
I noted that the Coast region has significantly benefited from the current administration’s development agenda and urged leaders to actively counter negative propaganda by sharing factual information about government achievements and giving an accurate narrative of the progress being made.
Leaders present included Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports and Coordinator of the caucus; Amason Kingi, Speaker of the Senate and UDA Secretary General; Hassan Omar Hassan; Members of Parliament; CEOs and chairpersons of various government institutions; and other leaders. @StateHouseKenya

2/2. These include improving service delivery, supporting local economic opportunities, and ensuring that community concerns are communicated to leadership for action. The engagement also reinforced the importance of unity and collaboration among party structures. By working closely with grassroots leaders, the goal is to maintain strong connections with the people, encourage inclusive participation, and ensure that development efforts reflect the real needs of the communities in Voi and the wider region @StateHouseKenya

@Devlins_Jeremih The women rep positions do matter a lot based on the following reasons:
1. The Kenyan Constitution articulate for 2/3 Gender rule hence it's a mandate for such a position to be created. However,as citizens,we must take a keen note on holding the leaders accountable.
2. Advocacy
