@salltweets They breach confidentiality as Jk has demonstrated. If you do not fit into her and her staffs ideology of how a woman should be you will be mocked on a global platform. A lot of women in Edinburgh give it a wide berth.

Society basically decided it is easier to establish places for women to recover from r*pe than it is to stop bad men from r*pping. But because of gender ideology, the absolute BARE MINIMUM that was given to women is up for DEBATE purely because some men are claiming to be women & for far too long that stupid claim has been given legitimacy. It’s bullsh-t. If there was ever a time for “no debate”, it’s this.

PCOS is Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. That’s cysts on Ovaries folks. You have to be born with Ovaries to have it. In fact 1 in 10 women have it. More than 1 in 3 women Olympians have it. It impacts hormones, particularly androgens. Hence the medical term PCOS Hyperandrogenism. It can cause Hirsutism, that’s the body hair and facial hair that you usually find on non-Intersex non-Trans men on a non-Intersex non-Trans woman. This isn’t rare, just uncommon, but most women with Hirsutism shave to fit in, some do not. It also can impact voice, muscle and bone tissue. The latter being why it’s so common in elite women athletes. So let’s be clear here. Rowling has revealed someone’s private words and private medical information. She’s further declared someone born with Ovaries a man because that person didn’t conform to the societal expectation that they shave and because the medical condition impacts voice. And she’s shown disregard for 1 in 10 women and a profound ignorance of one of the most common medical conditions for women in existence! share.google/7tHwfHeHIor1oQ…

For too long, we’ve been told that ending rough sleeping will take decades or even that it's impossible. I'm not having that. This is something a government can fix if it chooses to. Today, I’m choosing to. The Passage are an organisation leading the way on this - I was proud to chat to their team this morning.

‘Don’t mock men displaying their sexual fetish in public’ seems to be the latest warning to women. It happened with Oxford Uni man with his huge prosthetic breasts. Here we are again with ‘be-penised lesbian’ Fred and his dodgy fishnets. ‘Turn a blind eye, they’re not doing any harm, just keep quiet…we wouldn’t want you to be reported to the police now, would we?’ Don’t fall for it. Keep calling this out.

@sharrond62 I and a lot of other women use gender neutral toilets and there has been no issues. When they have a lock on the door, you can use this to get a bit of privacy.

@GuroSilva @daniellismore That's nice. Do you know about Marsha P Johnson and Silvia Rivera? Those women fought for your gay rights. What has Jk done to make life better for the gay community?

"How will you enforce single-sex toilets and changing rooms?????" Well I'm glad you asked. The same way we've enforced them all along. First, the women using those spaces will protect each other and tell any men to get out. Second, if men won't get out, those women will complain to the service provider. If the service provider can't or won't do anything about it, the police will be contacted. Exactly as it has always been done. But nobody ever needed to ask before because everyone used to know that men have to respect women's boundaries. Until very recently, nobody had been hoodwinked into thinking that women having boundaries that exclude men is bad. It will be enforced by women not taking this shit any more.

@latsot What you mean is, it hasn't been a problem until some author had an issue with it and that wasn't through personal experience. I couldn't care less about sharing spaces with trans women. Could we get terf free spaces, please.

One day, you won't have to give a shit about what J K Rowling says regarding the healthcare and legal status of a marginalised minority group she has no qualifications, direct membership or professional experience in. You will go about your day and she won't be able to hurt you.

Just a reminder that Theresa is a bloke unhappy that he is not welcome in THE ONE place where ONLY women can seek support for sexual assault and rape in Scotland. He’s welcome in ALL the others. But this is never enough for these men. They want it ALL.
Theresa ♿@TheatreSpoonie

Just a reminder Beira's Place is NOT a rape crisis centre. If you need immediate support they sign post you to ERCC, Rape Crisis Scotland, or the NHS. Their actual remit is tiny and limited and their building isn't accessible.

J.K Rowling has enough money she could live her life in 100% comfort, outside of the spotlight, a thousand times over. Instead she is choosing to stand up for the rights of women, girls & indeed even men. For that I salute her. ♥️ For everyone who is pretending men are women and men get pregnant simply because it's easier to be fake than stand up for sanity, this is for you. 🖕🖕
J.K. Rowling@jk_rowling

Trans-identified men in Edinburgh are fortunate enough to be welcome at the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, which was headed for a while by a trans-identified man who believed, and said publicly, that women who wanted a female-only service were bigots. That same rape centre admitted a male as a client because he called himself non-binary. The man was subsequently convicted for rape. Beira’s Place was set up by me to provide women in Edinburgh and the Lothians with the female-only service they were being denied. Internal emails between ERRC staff were revealed during an unrelated court case, which showed them to be angry and dismayed that there was now an alternative service for women. One might have thought, reading those emails, that ERRC staff’s priority was the ideological conversion of rape survivors rather than the provision of a service that traumatised women required to feel safe after rape. Beira’s Place has been exceptionally busy since it opened. We’ve taken on more staff and are currently looking for larger premises. We’ve helped women who’ve admitted that they didn’t want to use the alternative rape centre because of its very loud and public ‘trans women are women’ stance. We are also open to any and all trans-identified women who need support after rape. In short, you’ll be relieved to hear that the trans-identified men for whom you feel such empathy and compassion aren’t losing out. It was biological women who were being shamed for their entirely legitimate desire for a male-free space. Apparently you’d have preferred that situation to continue, but I think you’ll find that most people, whether male or female, will see that as evidence of your cruelty, not mine.

@Wattie23 @JournalistJill Phoning to make a mockery, or worse a wank session, out of a rape crisis line deserves to be exposed, especially since this is a daily occurrence for rape hotlines. Most people aren't aware of just how prevalent men abusing the women who answer help lines really is.

This is the best news to wake up to. Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in US on British extradition request. They face 59 charges of rape, trafficking for sexual exploitation, assault and offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
