@Wave52_ Hey I’m still using rn track player ! But a modified version I found compatible with new architecture

x.com/i/grok/share/1…

GDP is a very limited metric. It's really only useful at very early stages of development, or for manufacturing-oriented economies that actually produce things.
US GDP looks huge until you realize that the deindustrialized, services-dominated US economy is a house of cards built on financial speculation, people flipping houses, and meme coin grifters doing pump-and-dumps to each other (including the sitting US president and his wife).
This non-productive, parasitic economic activity doesn't contribute to a higher standard of living for average people -- but it does make GDP go up much more than workers producing cheap consumer goods, which actually do make people's lives more comfortable.
US GDP is a farce when you realize that:
-21% consists of the finance, insurance, and real estate (FIRE) sector;
-18% is the health care industry (which has the worst public health results of the rich countries);
-13% comes from professional and business services (like lawyers who get paid thousands of dollars per hour to file frivolous lawsuits against people who challenge corporate monopolies);
-only 10% of US GDP comes from manufacturing (and the bulk of what is considered "manufacturing" in US GDP figures consists of chemical products; food, beverage, and tobacco products; processed petroleum and coal products; and plastics and rubber products).
China, on the other hand, has a manufacturing-oriented economy that actually produces things, and the Chinese government emphasizes the growth of the real economy, not the financial sector (which is state owned and used to serve the real economy).
If China were only concerned about maximizing its GDP, it could privatize its schools, hospitals, infrastructure, banks, and state-owned enterprises and massively increase the current low costs of public education, health care, and transportation. The living standards of average working people would fall substantially, but China's GDP would go way up! That's precisely the US neoliberal model.

GDP is a terrible measure of economic activity where utilities and infrastructure are state owned enterprises. I pay the highest water and energy costs in OECD here in UK. That inflates GDP but leaves me much poorer. Our kids aren’t fed in schools unless they pay. That inflates GDP but contributes to massive social failure.
