@3AWNeilMitchell I’m not surprised. The more contracts that are signed the harder it will be to undo contracts

This is a new low for the Vic govt. Quietly signing a $1.7 billion deal on SRL which must be paid even if the work is cancelled . Age has the report but it looks like a new level of arrogance. And we pay .💰

@TimRichardsonMP That’s nice pity the government doesn’t have the same enthusiasm to deliver the new West Gippsland Hospital that was meant to start in 2023

The NEW Peninsula University Hospital opens on Tuesday 20 January 2026. 🏥 Another critical upgrade to health, delivered by the Allan Labor Government! The new hospital will have capacity to treat around 35,000 more patient episodes each year. 🧑‍⚕️ 👨‍⚕️ This is a massive boost for healthcare in our region and the nurses, midwives, doctors and health workers that support us when we need it most! 🙌

@TimRichardsonMP Mmmm disagree. Not one new government primary or secondary built in my electorate in over 50 years and the new hospital which was meant to start in 2023 well now they’re ready to cut for hay. Oh sorry I get it now you mean in Labor seats. My apologies

The Liberals have a $11.1 billion deficit in revenue cuts. This directly impacts on the ability to service debt in Victoria. No wonder the Liberals plan involves heavy cuts to health services and schools funding, because they need to make up this massive black hole. 🕳️ The Victorian Liberals will make Tony Abbott’s “Commission of Audit” cuts blush! 😳

@WayneFarnhamMP Hey @WayneFarnhamMP 👋 Little bit of a worry you legends aren’t across the revenue streams you have committed to cut! Just a heads up, we don’t support the Liberal plan to cut health services or schools! 😎 See you in Parliament next week legend.

@heidimur The fact is that I asked for more resources for Drouin nearly 2 years ago. 19000 population 1 ambulance this Minister is pathetic

Health Minister Thomas has just spoken at Parliament: “This is obviously a very distressing incident” But says there was no ambulance availability issue… Clinicians made the decisions. And “I’m confident that at all times Mrs Casboult will be receiving the very best care.”
Herald Sun@theheraldsun

A Victorian great-grandmother was forced to make her own way to hospital with a broken pelvis and bleeding on the brain suffered in a horror fall after she was assessed as being ineligible for an ambulance > bit.ly/48ocjiX

@3AW693 No surprise, the argument is just another stupid excuse from the CFMEU on delaying projects. Everyone knows carpet is not allowed in first aid rooms. When is someone going to clean this crap up. Victorians are sick of being held to ransom by this union

Labor has finally admitted the late Jane Garrett was right to oppose Dan’s pandering to the firefighters’ union. Think of her today. A brave woman hurt badly by the party she loved. She was right and stood up.

So if your in your 20s now and retire in 40 yrs time 3 million will be worth about 1 million. The fact that the legislation is not linked to CPI or inflation is problematic. Then factor in unrealised gains it doesn’t stack up. God knows how much things will cost in 40 years time I just can’t fathom how our younger ones today will survive based on those factors alone. It’s not a well thought out policy.

To most voters, the outrage over federal Labor’s modest super tax changes sounds like the burglars calling the cops because they got robbed. The loudest critics? A small slice of Australians with multi-million-dollar super balances, crying foul over having to pay a bit more tax on accounts that most workers could only dream of. It’s like throwing a tantrum at Centrelink because your private jet got downgraded. May 3rd was a generational reckoning. For the first time a different group of Australians had the numbers and they clearly intend to continue reshaping the body politics of this country. Looks like one side of politics is listening. They voted in huge numbers against a political world, where one is rewarded for hoarding wealth in tax shelters, why they themselves struggle to buy a home, pay the rent or feed their young kids. But some are acting like May 3rd never happened, still hunched over their SMSF (self-managed super funds) spreadsheets, oblivious to the fact that the country’s future just walked into the polling booth and voted against this world. We haver some data on the way - on this very topic. Stay tuned.

@heidimur So the current condition of roads is terrible. So they have a 10 year plan to have terrible roads. Yeah that makes sense

Vic Transport Dept bosses tell PAEC that they’ve got a ten year program for road surface maintenance. And how that plan is the ‘best investment’ to “retain the network in its current condition.”  Hmm. Reckon a few of us would prefer they aim MUCH higher.

Last week, I was in China for my first travel as Deputy Premier. This was integral to showcase @VicGovAu priorities, build relationships and establish future partnership opportunities. We also commemorated the 45th anniversary of the Victoria-Jiangsu sister-state relationship.
