But I know if it was a 49ers potential wr, I would want him in OTAs, training camp, practice etc as early as possible. It’s not about having last laugh, it’s about ruining that.

No. Sorry. There’s a principle involved and you don’t let players rob you of millions, ghost you, then strap on fairy wings and flutter to a new city. 30 of 31 other teams in the league want the 49ers to put the screws to Aiyuk because it will set the tone. No one wants this to be a precedent for players to breach contracts without consequences.

IMO i just don’t see the point of keeping this going as if the Niners will have the “last laugh”. If hoping he’s out of shape and won’t have enough time to build chemistry with his best friend/former teammate (who he could already be working out with btw) is the BIG WIN, that’s not a good end game 🥴.

Players “receiving millions for zero production after signing a contract” happens every year on every team due to injuries. What DOESN’T typically happen, is a player’s future guaranteed contract being voided - which should be the Niners “gotcha!!” to Aiyuk. Not this holding him hostage crap. It’s childish. Take the loss & move forward as an organization.

He didn’t get future money he would have gotten if he was in the building. That’s not having your money taken. He chose not to show up for work. Aiyuk received millions for zero production after signing, and continued to draw a fat paycheck while he was recovering from knee surgery. Those aren’t the same things.
