Today marks a watershed moment in driving mainstream awareness and adoption of Content Credentials — Google has joined the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) steering committee.   Google will collaborate with other steering committee members (Adobe, The BBC, Intel Corporation, Microsoft, Publicis Groupe, Sony, and Truepic) to develop the technical standard for Content Credentials while also actively exploring how to incorporate Content Credentials into its own products and services in the future.  “In the critical context of this year’s global elections where the threat of misinformation looms larger than ever, the urgency to increase trust in the digital ecosystem has never been more pressing,” says Dana Rao, EVP, General Counsel, and Chief Trust Officer of Adobe and co-founder of the C2PA.  🤝 The C2PA, within the Linux Foundation, lays out the technical standards for digital provenance while the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) builds open-source tools based on the C2PA standards.
