Rough teaching day. Got up early to get in and make copies. Copiers have a line, then keep jamming. No copies made. Computer has no internet, all materials saved on One Drive. Still made it work and let kids know my mood is not them.

I was at a conference for administrators a few weeks ago. The guy across from my table was selling a program for principals's. Let's invent one of our own

@bunsenbernerbmd I love Beaker! and Goldens. Thinking of getting one when I can have a dog next year. If you have the time, could you please tell me how much shedding Beaker does? Is it constant, or just periodic? Thanks!!

@ChrisExpTheNews Its amazing how many things make much more sense when you realize the limitations of measurements and technology of the time.

Getting prepared both physically and mentally for our first day back as teachers. Campus first, then running district PD for upper science. Plenty of work and the Sunday scariest are lurking.

Digesting the sessions from @ChemEd2025. From @chemistrykit and his keynote. 3 ways to spark interest. Ask a Q. Tell me something new. Or tell a story- "once upon a time"

Year in review- At that moment, I knew that jumping into coaching would be a great way to get a leg up. However, our department ended up losing two people, and the decision had already been made anyway. I am not the wrestling coach
SageOnTheStage@sage_stage

It looks like every department in the building is going to have to lose one staff member. It's not based on senority. Out of the current science department, not one of us is a coach. But I bet coaching would give you a leg up on keeping your spot. Son of a bitch

425+ chemistry educators from across the country choose to spend 5 days of their summer jamming out to all things chemistry education in Golden CO at @ChemEd2025 It’s a gift that this exists, and I am grateful for the wonder of teaching with them, even miles apart.

@VinceBoley Encourage listening in the followup. What did your partner say that was really good? If I notice a pair not talking, ill warn them that I will call on them.

Looking for some feedback and advice on using more structured "Turn and Talks" in my classroom. Sometimes students just stare at each other in silence (maybe with some slight drooling). How do I get every student engaged during turn and talks?

@chessdojo Already being included in esports at scholastic level. More common way to play, low barrier to enter. Just another step in broadening the demographic. HS chess coach and dojo member

@KatyDornbos Yes. But I call Hbonding a subcategory of dipole dipole. Just learned that some people include ion-Hbonding, which is weird to me

Let's say you teach high school physics and you have a student that needs a calculator for "1 x 1 x 1" because they cannot calculate that in their head. Is it still possible to teach this student physics? I want to know everyone's thoughts.
