I understand people bouncing off the first few hours of Crimson Desert. I also hate the whole “it takes ten hours to get good” issue with many games, I just hope people can push through and experience what I have. I’m still playing a ton, so much more to do

@rick5292 When I bought the game, I bought the bog standard base edition because I wasn't sure about it and I had just started a new job. Two weeks later, I bought the next highest edition as an upgrade. Two more weeks later, I bought the supporter edition. Love this game, can't wait!

Here's some of the DLSS 5 material we saw in the demos but didn't get a chance to film. Here I think you can see the strengths of DLSS 5 - reflections become much more attractive. Starfield doesn't have great lighting to begin with, so the differences can be profound.

CRIMSON DESERT starts rough. I honestly disliked the first 8 hrs. Once it opens up and you get more power + abilities, it's a TON of fun. So many gameplay systems but they don't feel cynical or half-baked. I wish there was a better story but combat/exploration hooked me 1/2

@GrayZoneWarfare Absolutely do not like the prospect of losing reputation when you fail a task. Yes, that makes logical sense, but it's still a game, and that will only make me feel like my time was wasted, not respected, and ultimately make me bounce out of the game because progression feels bad

@slipgatecentral Realistically it’d probably work great for anything in the background, just not for the main characters or story-critical objects. Nobody will mind minor inconsistencies in the throwaway decor, but as we can see people really don’t like when AI messes up faces.

What I really want from DLSS5:

@f4micom I'm just glad that they can spot AI images. My dad absolutely cannot. I wouldn't be surprised if marketers notice that and when possible they use AI but directed at the above 40-50 demographic instead.

@PaulTassi I think part of this is due to their original talking points via the Digital Foundry coverage, where they said it wasn't doing that, didn't touch geometry, etc. Love Digital Foundry, but exceptionally bad coverage in this case.

@GrayZoneWarfare So, are AIs going to stop shooting at you from 200-300 meters when they only have an iron sight Type 51? Also... is the game ever going to have breakable windows? Grenades feel pretty pointless when you can only use them against enemies fully in the open or via open doorways

@MrProWestie I'm okay with the first change only because the maps are so damn small that otherwise you can't find anywhere to put them on half of them that isn't like 20 feet from the enemy, especially in Breakthrough where the maps are cut into smaller parts per sector. But the second? Wtf??

Have I really just read that Battlefield 6 has enabled Mortars inside HQ areas and players now can’t fire RPGs whilst sitting in passenger seats of choppers? It’s like whoever is in charge hates fun. Battlefield sandbox is basically dead.
