This is what entitlement looks like! 🤬 There are nesting waterbirds on this pond on Hampstead Heath... there are also big 'No Swimming' signs, all being totally ignored! 🤬 Pure selfishness... 😒🤬🤬 (Shared from Instagr*m with permission from 'swansofhampsteadheath')

We often assume that there is a home team advantage in league football. That is still the case, just, but three decades of data reveal a long-term structural decline in home team advantage across English football's top five tiers. Read on to find out more. 👇 🧵1/4 @Football_BM

@Orientsphincter Congratulations @Official_NCFC. Always good to beat the Club that only exists on the wealth of the class of 92. Money can't buy everything. See you at Brisbane Road next season.

It’s extraordinary that the BBC consistently platforms men upset they have to use gender neutral toilets instead of women’s toilets over the female rape survivors who have been unable to access a female-only support group, in relation to the EHRC guidance. It says it all, really.

Hi Emily, it’s the Equality Act that says single sex services can’t admit people of the opposite sex. The Code of Practice simply explains it to service providers. If you want services organised on the basis of gender identity not sex you need to advocate for a change in the law. There’d be a lot of opposition to that (including from me) because of the impact on women, including domestic abuse survivors. Happy to put you in touch with a specialist lawyer if you want to know more about the relationship between the law and guidance.

#deanehistory 221. Having played for his country in the World Cup in 2006, Jamie Carragher was omitted by Fabio Capello from the initial selection for the England World Cup squad in 2010. Such things are a terrible blow, especially when you have represented your nation before and think you will be on the team sheet this time. But - despite the inevitable press interest in the issue, the English press famously being rather probing by nature, and despite any inclination he might have to complain - Carragher kept his own counsel. And it turned out that another centre-back, who would have gone to the World Cup in his place, was injured in the penultimate Premier League game prior to the tournament. Carragher joined the side after all. The lesson, even for players yet more established and better regarded than Carragher, is obvious. Press pause on your fury… especially when there’s still a chance that someone else’s bad break might bring you good fortune.

Shocking reports tonight are suggesting that England's top domestic English goalscorer Dom Ballard is set to miss out on Thomas Tuchels World Cup squad. The fate of Leyton Orients Sonny Perkins is still yet unknown.

@henrywinter I am in favour of honesty and fair play. However, the punishment is extreme. It is an intern with an iPhone and how much can be gained (how much WAS gained?) from that? The worst crime is Southampton sending him there to do this act. Cowardly. A fine and points deduction enough.

Southampton kicked out of Championship play-off final for spying. Correct decision, especially as it transpires they spied on three clubs in total. This is about more than a bloke standing behind a tree with an iPhone. It’s about how seriously the game should take cheating. EFL independent disciplinary commission have struck a blow for fair play, for integrity, for the need for respect between clubs, for coaches to have an expectation of privacy in training. 25% of goals scored in the Championship this season were from set-pieces. Clubs practised them. Understandably, coaches don’t want their plans revealed. EFL sending a strong message with this punishment.  Spygate 2 different from Spygate 1. Rules tightened and punishments introduced since Leeds United’s offence. Appeals, of course. It’s tough for Southampton fans to be denied the trip to Wembley and the chance of a return to the Premier League. It’s particularly tough that many have forked out for tickets, travel and accommodation. Their frustration and anger should be directed at their club. Southampton should recompense fans. It’s not the fans’ fault.  The stupidity in all this is that Southampton would probably have beaten Boro anyway. Better team, stronger bench. But this is so damning… “Southampton admitted breaches of Regulations requiring Clubs to act with the utmost good faith and prohibiting the observation of another Club’s training session within 72 hours of a scheduled match,” says EFL. “The admitted breaches concern fixtures against Oxford United in December 2025, Ipswich Town in April 2026 and Middlesbrough in May 2026.” So the punishment is proportionate. It should act as a deterrent. Honesty matters.

Last week I decided to throw my support behind @AndyBurnhamGM for leadership of the Labour Party and on to PM. But I cannot do that now that I find out he says Transwomen. IE men. Should be allowed to use the ladies toilets. I can never support anyone that does this. Biological Women must have single sex spaces.

@OrientBraces Very sad for the fans, who are blameless. Imagine parents trying to explain to devastated kids why they now won’t be going to Wembley.
