Treemissions
Treemissions@treemissions·
There's a tree in South Africa known as the Baobab that can store up to 120,000 litres (32,000 gallons) of water in its trunk to survive harsh droughts. This tree essentially turns into a giant, living water bottle. Imagine if humans could do that; we'd be walking around like natural hydration packs, sipping from our own elbows during marathons! #Nature #FunFacts #Trees

UWA has released four rehabilitated African Grey Parrots on Ngamba Island through @UWEC_EntebbeZoo, as part of the 119 confiscated at Bunagana border in April 2022 and rehabilitated at Entebbe Zoo. The first release in Kibaale National Park (June 2023) freed over 50 parrots. The Ngamba release is historic as the parrots carry GPS trackers, a global first, to aid monitoring and ecotourism. Chief warden, David Musingo hailed the milestone, crediting Chubu University and JICA for support. Professor Ushida Kazunari confirmed early GPS tests showed promising results.

Plastic Pollutes

💦 Water is a human right that no person should have to pay for to meet their basic needs. The plastic bottled water industry exploits our public good, and in the US, 2/3 of bottled water is just repackaged tap water, sold back to us in toxic plastic bottles. #PlasticPollutes
