This is false. Section 24 of the Immigration Act 1971 makes entry without permission a criminal offence. Nationality and Borders Act 2022, strengthens this further. Section 2 of The Asylum and Immigration Act 2004, makes entry without a passport a criminal offence. Illegal Migration Act 2023, creates a legal duty to remove anyone who enters illegally and makes their asylum claim inadmissible. The law is clear, the government just refuses to use it.
