@PeteMundo I think one important observation is that all the teams in the same “ring” as KC are huge metro-plex’s that even 5-10 miles from their “downtown” is vastly different landscape/location from Truman Sports Complex. This discussion includes Arlington

I've seen many downtown KC stadium advocates highlight the Colorado Rockies as their example of how downtown baseball magically works. They won 43 games last year and ranked 16th in attendance. They'll claim it's thanks to their downtown ballpark. There is little to no evidence to suggest these two are related. See the below post, which shares how far from the hub of downtown each MLB team is located. For those closest to downtown: The Padres, Giants and Blue Jays are in the Top 10, while the Pirates, Twins and Orioles are in the Bottom 8. Texas, which is right behind Denver at No. 17 in attendance, is the furthest away of any downtown in the MLB. And Texas went .500 last season. This is NOT me saying that the Royals shouldn't move downtown. I understand the business model, and given the economics of baseball, I actually believe it makes sense. But please don't oversimply this by assuming that the Rockies example is a direct correlation to how things would go in KC. Oh, and let's just make sure we get a fair deal for everyone: The Royals AND the taxpayers. That's not to much to ask, and it's been my goal since Day 1. Talk with you Monday morning 6-10AM on 95.7FM @KCMOTalkRadio.

@BasedMikeLee According to the latest IRS data (tax year 2022), the top 1% of taxpayers paid 40.4% of all federal individual income taxes. The top 10% paid 72.0%. The bottom 50% paid just 3.0%.

With RISP, the Royals are currently 29th in the league in batting average (.192), and dead last in OBP (.272), SLG (.238), ISO (.046), and wRC+ (46)

Jac Caglianone has cut his chase % by almost 17% from LY. Once he starts getting more barrels it’s over. I’m not worried about Cags guys. At least not yet.

@WesSummers25 @NFL_DovKleiman MVPs, All-Pros, TDs, INTs, Passer rating. Individual stats. Derek Fisher has 6 rings but you know why nobody talks about him? Because he doesn’t have any individual accolades. It’s not “greatest team” or “greatest dynasty” of all time, it’s greatest players of all time

@DerekGreen234 @NFL_DovKleiman So in your biased opinion, MVPs and “being the best thrower Derek Green has seen” are the best way to to rank QBs all time?

@WesSummers25 @NFL_DovKleiman Team stats. Opinion invalid. And Mahomes is great. And right behind Rodgers in the top 5. Might surpass Rodgers after his career is over, but not right now. Once he gets that 4th MVP I’ll agree with you

@DerekGreen234 @NFL_DovKleiman One career Super Bowl appearance in a weak division in most of his seasons and 1-4 in the NFCCG. I can pull up a Mahomes highlight reel of him making spectacular throws as well. Mahomes has already been to 5 SBs (won 3). Mahomes has been to 7 AFCCG in 8 years (won 5).

@WesSummers25 @NFL_DovKleiman He’s the greatest thrower of the football I’ve ever seen. Even if I wasn’t a packers fan, his arm strength, his ability to throw it in the smallest windows is unbelievable and I would still put him top 3.

Peyton Manning can’t solve Ty Law. Moral panic. Change the rules on defensive back is played. Mahomes can’t beat Brady. Moral panic. Change the overtime rules. A team in the snow-capped Rockies can’t beat the Pats in their own snow. Moral panic. No more outdoor football.
