It's a shame that the carpetbagger who built a career off of buying and selling failed medicine to pump his stock price before selling (kinda like a scam) is being touted as the golden boy for the Republican party. He moved to Ohio to try and win. He used personal party connections to get in the race and to dominate. The GOP is a joke.

My uncle, Captain Wylder Modine, was a real B-17 "Flying Fortress" pilot during WWII. After returning from a bombing mission, he got hit by anti-aircraft fire and almost had his right arm taken off. He had his crew bail, but his co-pilot was shot up really bad and couldn’t parachute, so my uncle, with one arm, landed the heavily damaged B-17 in a field behind enemy lines. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart. I talked with him before making MEMPHIS BELLE in 1989. He gave me his dress uniform to wear in the film and said, “when you put that on, don't disrespect it.”

This little fellow is Sammy Teusch. He was a 10-year-old fourth-grader from Greenfield, Indiana, who died by suicide on May 5, 2024. His family publicly attributed his death to relentless bullying at school (including verbal harassment about his appearance-such as his teeth and glasses-physical incidents like being beaten up on the bus or in the bathroom, and being called names like "Dahmer"). His parents reported contacting the school district (Greenfield-Central Community Schools) about 20 times regarding the bullying, with claims that little effective action was taken.They and he,got no help. I hope tonight,you’ll remember them in your prayers.

Part of me wants to just never talk about Hurricane Helene again. It was incredibly difficult (and still is). I didn’t lose my home but people I love did. People I love were trapped. People I love were thought to be dead for days until WHITE MEN found them! It makes my chest tight thinking about it. Every single person associated with this piece can rot in hell. This is unacceptable.

On this day, 5 May 1862, the Battle of Williamsburg was fought in Virginia. Confederate forces under Joseph E. Johnston, with James Longstreet directing much of the fighting, turned to face a larger Union army led by George B. McClellan. They were already withdrawing up the Peninsula, but instead of breaking, they stood and fought. The line held long enough to blunt the Union pursuit and buy time for the army to fall back toward Richmond in order. It wasn’t a clear-cut victory, but it did its job.
