Interested in information processing dynamics in the brain? How about that weird grey area between structure and function - the algorithmic? Check out our preprint where we examine primitive information processing in control and pathological states. bit.ly/3jNYCz9 (1/6)

@KordingLab Presumably causality would be reasonably easy to test though, no? Do in-vitro MEA recordings (a la John Beggs) and modulate an exogenous electromagnetic field around the cultures to see if there are changes in dynamics.

In the spirit of making more real world evals, here is the Factorio Learning Environment (FLE). Spurred by wanting to eval if models are good paperclip maximisers, we check how well agents build factories for other things 🏗️🏭🛠️

@TaraFotiPhD I'm very happy in Western Massachusetts. Progressive culture, great healthcare (although you have to drive into Boston), cost of living is lower than closer to the coast, and excellent public schools (both primary and university). Winter sucks though.

I hold a strong prior that entropic brain effect and spinogenesis are related. Would love this to be tested. Simple thing is to say spinogenesis is Glu mediated but I suspect it’s a particular type of excitation.

@RCarhartHarris Maybe reach out to @WesleyPClawson at @drmichaellevin's lab? He doesn't do rats, but rather, rat organotypic cultures w/ a multi-electrode array (lots of computable entropy measures). Shouldn't be too hard to stain the slices afterward for spine analysis.
