The passage of the new Legacy Framework in Westminster has served to displace victims’ experiences, voices and rights in favour of a singular emphasis on British state military veterans and vested interests.
This ignores the role of the state during the conflict and their victims.
This debate is retraumatising and ill serves efforts towards healing, understanding or justice. .@hilarybennmp .@dfatirl .@HMcEntee

🚨🗣NEW: 'West Belfast is owed an apology. These posters are not reflective of the community. Get them down.'
🎤🎥Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaking to @sinnfeinireland MP @PaulMaskeyMP.
He says his office has been “inundated with messages from local businesses and organisations raising concerns about new paramilitary billboards.”
The posters, erected by the Department of Justice, directly call out paramilitary and criminal gangs.
However, the MP says the campaign is actually damaging the community, impacting business and tourism.
He insists those issues are not happening in West Belfast, and adds that if anyone feels under threat, they should contact the PSNI.
