@NMowbray23 What are the barriers to entry for producing this stuff in NZ? Do we need the b416 controls in place before our struggling economy receives any sort of assistance 🤔

First stop Gumi Land.
Some behind-the-scenes raw footage from what is the most advanced Gummy/ toy factory in the world.
Every system and line you see here has been designed and built by our automation team to create Gumi Yum at scale.
China’s engineers are now the best in the world.
The depth of skill, innovation, and speed of execution is hard to comprehend, some of these machines go from design to production in just 12 weeks 🤯
From AI-driven quality control and machine learning for precision, to smart warehousing and automated tool retrieval, it’s a masterclass in engineering.

@JudithCollinsMP They constantly rebuild their city without traffic management. Amazing place.

Singapore is a close friend to us. Not only was New Zealand a supporter of Singapore from independence, basing NZDF personnel in Singapore until 1989, but we have similar sized populations and a shared view of the World.
We work together in Defence as part of the Five Powers Defence Arrangement ( a relationship dating from 1971), with Malaysia, UK and Australia. And when the COVID pandemic hit, New Zealand kept food supplies going into Singapore, while Singapore kept pharmaceuticals coming into New Zealand.
This week, we’ve hosted the Prime Minister of Singapore, the Foreign Minister, the Minister of Defence, the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and Members of Parliament.
Prime Ministers @chrisluxonmp and @LawrenceWongST signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership bringing us closer together.
During the visit, I was struck, once again, as to just how easy it is for our two governments to talk together. It’s a longstanding relationship built on history, present and future.

@NZNationalParty Are these the people who are going to buy the $3-20 million dollar 15 story apartments in Parnell to "ease the housing crisis"? It certainly won't be many kiwis buying them. But the property developers giving you the backhanders will do well i guess.

New Zealand mourns a great leader with the passing of Ngāti Tūwharetoa paramount chief Sir Tumu te Heuheu Tūkino VIII.
Sir Tumu was a fierce and humble leader for his people, their land and their waters including the majestic Tongariro National Park and Lake Taupō which all New Zealanders and visitors enjoy.
Successive National governments and Ngāti Tūwharetoa have a long history of working together with mutual respect for each other’s roles and responsibilities. Sir Tumu continued that tradition and his legacy will endure for generations.
I send my condolences to Lady Susan, Sir Tumu’s whānau and the people of Ngāti Tūwharetoa at this sad time.

@TaxpayersUnion Women are so good at politics though. I don't understand why previous generations banned them from participating???
English

@HobsonsPledgeNZ A 2 or 3 state solution is a great idea for this country. I can see the buses dropping off the pink haired, unemployed communists at the aotearoa border gates now. We can only dream.

@chrisluxonmp How will we afford these concert tickets after we've spent all our money at ikea to fund the new minimum wage jobs they create?
English

@SimeonBrownMP Is this a permanent boost? Or is it like the potholes that you did fix, but now that the social media campaign is over, are now worse than ever.
English

#BREAKING: National’s Elective Boost has delivered over 16,000 additional procedures in the first half of this year – far exceeding our target of 10,500. That’s thousands more hip replacements, knee operations, and cataracts!

@NewstalkZB When you need a pay packet and your ego stroked by being in politics. You say what you need to say.

@saltyreigns He just needs one more term in power and his life's work in politics will all magically come together and turn the country around.

“It’s time to put NZ first”
You are literally in govt. The time was 18 months ago.
You haven’t even made English an official language yet.

@chrisluxonmp This might be a crazy idea Chris, but have you put any thought into encouraging kiwo businesses that produce something? As opposed to foreign owned businesses that rely on our consumption to export the profits. Does anyone in parliament think big picture?
English

@2ETEKA Personally, I don't worry too much about these things. Because when this weak coalition loses within the next few terms and the far left take over, nz is completely fucked. Our institutions are already converted, the female population has been won over. Texas here we come.

With what is happening in the UK, Just a reminder that just 1 year ago in NZ it was exposed that the NZ Police (remember this was while McSkimmings was deputy Commissioner) were training officers on “hate speech” despite the coalition canning all hate speech policy that Labour had started.
Several concerned Police contacted the FSU informing them the Police had set up an hate speech hub even recording social media posts - where speech that IS NOT ILLEGAL was flagged. Examples of training material obtained by the FSU were chilling. Two examples of what the Police considered to be ‘hate speech’ shown in the shared material was :
The phrase “Kiwi not Iwi”
And
“There are only two Genders”
The whistle blower officers stated “we joined the police to protect people’s rights, not remove them” those are the cops we need, good on them.
After several attempts from the FSU the Police reluctantly released a statement that they have since stopped the practice. Have they though? Listen to Barry Soper confirm to him that the Police were running a hate hub and as he says “they could have recorded it and used it down the track, oh so and so said this and there’s his name”
Starmer has announced digital ID will be rolled out in the UK to keep everyone safe from immigrants. Luxon had a weekend with Albanese and announced a new Digital ID for NZ that will link with Australia. With Digital ID it is a very centralised ledger, at a click of a button the state will know who you are, where you are, what you are saying and linked to digital money, they can control where and what you spend your money on, or simply turn your bank account off.

@TheZeitgeistNZ I'm all for it. All we need are decent wall building materials. Anyone who wants to live in aotearoa can be dropped in there. We have plenty of land which is easy to put a border across. Let's move to a 2 state solution.
English

Eru Kapa Kingi has written an interesting opinion piece calling for independent Maori land.
I think something along these lines could be a good idea - let Maori have their own communities run according to “tikanga”, let them take responsibility for crime, poverty and so on in their own communities, and then give the boot to tikanga, institutional racism, systemic bias and so on across wider NZ. A grand bargain where both groups get what they want: win-win.
There are plenty of “federalist” arrangements that could be drawn up that would provide local independence without giving away NZs sovereign territory.
Plus the fact that many hapu up north didn’t sign the Treaty actually gives them a pretty strong legal case anyway. If the government ignores Ngapuhi’s Treaty claim it’s likely to come back and bite them.

Nicole McKee is moving to streamline event rules.
Right now, promoters face different alcohol licencing rules from different councils. We’re replacing that with one nationwide, risk-based system for special licences. Councils will have to work together on multi-district events, and ministers can exempt bars and venues from needing a special licence to show big televised games like the Rugby World Cup.
That means easier planning, less bureaucracy, and the same safeguards against harm.

@MsWonderOutLoud If you ever wondered how society reached a point in the past where women were banned from voting. This is why. Young women just gagging for a socialist utopia, similar to all of the others who have failed miserably in the past. What a shit show this country is on track to become

Roy Morgan poll is out and young people - more specifically young women are dragging us - kicking and screaming - in the right direction - left! Vive la femme! What's wrong with 50+ women though? Apparently 60.5% of us support the coalition government! roymorgan.com/findings/10014…

@kaiviti_cam In JKs defense, one of his policies was a low wage economy to compete with the third world. Just unfortunate that his only other plan for growth was continuing the housing bubble, so it was just cheap construction workers, not factory workers.
English

@saltyreigns Trump has been pushing the fed guy, Jerome Powell to cut rates and stimulate the economy, but he's not a trump fan so doesn't want to. The markets see a rate cut as a weaker dollar so gold and silver push upwards against it. Its probably near the top for now...
