But even if the universe were to crush him, Man would still be nobler than his slayer, because he knows that he is dying and the advantage the universe has over him. The universe knows none of this. — Blaise Pascal

If you've ever recognized me on the street from my occasional TV appearances or whatever and you thought "I won't bother him," you really needn't have thought that. I like people saying "Hi" to me every 26 days or so. Honestly, I wish it were every 22. I'm a Leo.

Very important piece on OpenSource (weight) AI v. China by @bgurley. Today’s frontier AI systems making major gains in domains like coding are not the omniscient, standalone AI models the industry often wants people to imagine. They are complex systems: multiple models, tool loops, memory layers, planning steps, retrieval, verification, and software harnesses designed to keep the model stable long enough to solve difficult problems like software bugs. That matters big time. The advantage is not just model weights. The advantage is the entire execution system around the model. And if that execution layer is controlled by only a few large companies, innovation becomes narrow, expensive, and dependent on their priorities. To compete with China and unlock AI across every major industry, the U.S. needs widely distributed open-source models, domain-specific systems, and new execution architectures that enterprises, startups, universities, and government agencies can build on directly. The future of AI should not be controlled by a handful of closed frontier labs. It should be an open, distributed innovation layer across the economy.

A new @bgurley blog post! I have been thinking about how sophisticated executives are using open source in super creative ways. Started writing this three years ago. Excited to finish it up and publish it! And with the new @p3institute brand. substack.com/home/post/p-19…

Oh boy, I woke up this morning to Trotskyite and JournoLawfare™️ peddler Harry Litman. He’s big-time mad both that DOJ is standing up to politicized Barfare attacks against me and @EagleEdMartin on separation of powers and supremacy grounds. Harry also hates my piece criticizing Queensberry Republicans for being too weak and too willing to unilaterally disarm in the face of all the Democrat Party Barfare/Lawfare. Sorry Harry. I know you’re not so familiar with the Constitution in all its structuralist glory or with Republicans who fight and are not members of the Uniparty, trained to go limp. But what can I say? We’re not going anywhere. And the structuralist Constitution, not the bastardized Constitution of the 1930s through the 1970s, has been making a comeback for quite some time. youtu.be/ywEX3a9_p2M?si… thefederalist.com/2026/05/13/cal…

Minnesota Democrats want to criminalize owning weapons, even as they set actual gun criminals free to terrorize you. You shouldn't have the ability to defend yourself. But their voters should be able to kill you without consequence. To hell with that.

It’s almost 7 weeks since knee operation. On the bike 30 min, which is the most I’ve done since the operation. Very little pain now and the swelling has gone down. Looking forward to an active weekend. Get in the gym yourselves and get rid of some of that tension.#nhpolitics

@DanFriedman81 @tedfrank This is about as credible as e jean Carroll's accusations. In both cases the false accusers (remember we're innocent until proven guilty) suffered no consequences for dragging these men through the mud.

Brett Kavanaugh, a man in his 50s, had been valedictorian of his high school, at Yale College and a star student at Yale Law, had clerked for the Supreme Court, had a top career as an appellate lawyer and federal judge and a pristine reputation, and then a random woman from the town he grew up in claimed he had groped her at a party 35 years earlier when they were in high school. Kavanaugh didn’t try to argue that the incident was consensual. He didn’t claim he remembered things differently than she did. He immediately stated that he had never even met the accuser. Denying ever meeting the accuser is a much stronger claim than merely denying assaulting her, and much easier to refute. After Kavanaugh made this denial, Christine Blasey-Ford no longer had to prove he had sexually assaulted her to scuttle his nomination, she only had to prove that the two of them had attended a party together at which such an assault might have occurred. She was unable to do so. She did not know whose house the alleged assault occurred at. None of the people she claimed attended the party corroborated any aspect of her account. Leland Keyser, a friend of Blasey-Ford’s, who the accuser claimed was at the alleged party, said she recalled no such event and had never met Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh produced a detailed calendar he had kept during the summer Blasey-Ford alleged she was assaulted, which included his whereabouts of every weekend night and listing who he was with. Kavanaugh argued that he could alibi himself and provide witnesses for any night Blasey-Ford claimed she might have been at a party with him. Blasey-Ford responded that she did not know the date of her assault and was not entirely certain it even occurred that year. Instead of being seen as persuasive, Kavanaugh’s calendar was mocked in both mainstream and social media because the reason he kept it was for a drinking contest he was having with his friends. Nearly a decade later, there is still not a single shred of proof or a single witness who will corroborate the claim that Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey-Ford were ever in the same room before she testified at his confirmation hearing. Nonetheless, people like Nick Kristof still claim Kavanaugh was “credibly accused” of sexually assaulting this woman.

Thanks @DrJohnEastman. And you are right to key into that paragraph, which reads: For example, in a recent interview, former FBI Special Agent Michael Feinberg threatened that President Donald J. Trump’s former lawyer, Dr. John Eastman, was “disbarred and the appeal of his disbarment was denied, so [Acting Attorney General] Todd Blanche should watch his step.” See Jeff Clark (@JeffClarkUS), X (May 4, 2026, 11:34 AM), x.com/jeffclarkus/st….

Wow. The Department of Justice just filed suit against the D.C. Bar for its prosecution of @JeffClarkUS. Great description of how partisan the DC Bar is. I'm mentioned in Para. 21 of the complaint, which you can read here: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco….

Matt, please do me a favor: Gargle my (beautiful) white balls and shut the fuck up? The most beautiful human being I've ever seen in person was Naomie Harris in 2004. Black women are hot as fuck. You look like a less fuckable version of Where's Waldo. Hush, child.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

Not one person on the planet actually thinks that Lupita Nyong’o is “the most beautiful woman in the world.” But Christopher Nolan knows that he would be called racist if he gave “the most beautiful woman” role to a white woman. Nolan is technically talented but a coward. Too afraid to do anything that even slightly challenges the spirit of the age.
