Final Results: Punjab Local Body Elections 2026 Total Wards: 1977 AAP Candidates: 1801 Won: 958 Vote Share (Est.): 41% Congress Candidates: 1550 Won: 397 Vote Share (Est.): 25% BJP Candidates: 1316 Won: 172 Vote Share (Est.): 13% SAD Candidates: 1251 Won: 192 Vote Share (Est.): 11% Despite being the ruling party, AAP managed only 958/1977 seats - among the weakest urban local body performances by a ruling party in Punjab in recent decades. If this trend continues, BJP crossing 22% vote share in 2027 is very much possible. AAP looks well past its 2022 peak, and on current trends could face a decisive defeat in the 2027 Assembly elections.
