You cut off the 2nd half of that sentence which is kind of important for context. Being uneducated on how bot permissions work is not the fault of the developer, and it’s not their responsibility to educate you. Think of it like giving someone keys to your house and telling them they can come over whenever they like to mow your lawn. Let’s say you do that and they stop inside for a glass of water. They didn’t have to ask you if they could do that because they already have the keys to your house. There might be some doors that are locked that they don’t have a key to in the same way you might want a bot to able to be able to read messages but not send them. If they do something you don’t like whether it be malicious or not it’s the same as someone breaking your trust in any other context. Best case you can take away their keys and walk away learning a lesson about blind trust, worst case they take you for everything you’ve got and you come back to an empty house that’s on fire.

your key point on you post " If someone is known to mess round with thier bot for fun." thats the kicker here. until today myself and many others have never seen the dev of Sery do this and obviously the OP as well was not aware. so i think its fair to be a bit thrown off about it.

When you give a bot permissions you inherently state that you trust the developer of the bot with the access you grant. If someone is known to mess around with their bot for fun and you’re someone who trusts a random stranger right up until you find that out you have every right to revoke the bots permissions and find an alternative but it’s hard not to agree with Benjamin if you rub a couple brain cells together.

19-year-old was fatally shot in the head by a friend after refusing to share Wingstop french fries. Jarvis Davis was in a Fort Worth, Texas apartment with his girlfriend and friends. With his girlfriend lying on his lap, Davis was eating his food from Wingstop. Another man in the group, who had finished his meal, asked Davis for some of his french fries. Davis declined, which led to an argument. Witnesses say that after things escalated, the man shot Davis in the head. Officers and EMS were called to the scene and transported Davis to a local hospital, but he died hours later. While authorities say they have identified the suspect, they haven’t been able to locate him.
