So much bad history about Scottish culture and languages going about at the moment. Scots and Gaelic are both integral parts of Scottish identity. Both languages were dominant in the vast majority of Scotland at one point. Scotland does not exist without either language.

I won’t amplify the bile I’ve seen about where individual MSPs were born (several ironically from the Commonwealth, otherwise held up on an imperialist pedestal) but I will say not in my name. Edinburgh is all the greater by those across history who chose to call it home.
