@fuzzymittens If I was in the room and you told me you were removing the patients foot, I would question it. I would also look to see if there were doctor's orders for it and inform all of the admins there was a problem. I would not hold the patients hand and let them do that. I would say stop

@sophgermain I literally dropped my baby, they were fine. It's a running joke in our family now that I dropped someone on their head but nobody knows who. I have 4 kids who are all old enough to have my weird sense of humor

This is so poignant, I follow the teachings of Jesus even though I no longer believe in his affiliated God. My parents, those Sunday school teachers, youth pastors and pastors didn't actually believe in turning the other cheek or welcoming strangers. I was tricked.

@Dallas_Holladay I made a mistake recently. A lab tech told me an A&Ox3 patient hit her because she woke him up. I said "are you okay? I'll chart everything" I should have said "I'm calling the police" I apologized to her 20 minutes later but she didn't want the police called. My bad.

My hospital system rolled out the newly required violence prevention training. There's an entire section on escaping choke holds, grabs and minimizing harm from punching. Very, very sad.

@Dallas_Holladay One of the reasons I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was that my favorite charge nurse was beaten so bad by a patient that she hasn't worked since early pandemic. If someone tries to beat me up & I can't escape, we're going to the floor and they're getting choked unconscious. #bjj
