@joeroganhq For bypassing Congress on war hopefully. It would be nice to see some real Constitutional safeguards upheld no matter who is in power.

@elonmusk Instead of giving us self-driving cars, just give us "dumb cars" again that only do the basics and aren't sharing our data, and can't be turned off remotely. This is what the majority wants. Call the new company Ludd and keep the prices reasonable.

@TheDunkCentral The NBA has sent word out that Luka shall not be allowed to win MVP when LeBron is on his team because it belittles geriatric LeBron.

Michael Wilbon says he’s voting Jaylen Brown for MVP “I have a vote in this. And I will tell you it’s tightened up. My vote, and I’m not even sure the order. I think it’s Jaylen Brown one, I think it’s SGA two, and I think it’s Victor three. And then don’t talk to me about a guy who plays half the court, Luka Dončić.” (Via @PTI h/t @awfulannouncing , @TheNBABase )

@killerstorm @karpathy Meanwhile enterprise security teams are forcing you to update dependencies monthly. What's a bigger risk?

@karpathy Yeah, it's rather sad devs now believe that libs require weekly updates now. Nobody is even trying to write software in a way that it can be "done" - i.e. code is final, it does what it says it does. Then dependency won't be a problem

Software horror: litellm PyPI supply chain attack. Simple `pip install litellm` was enough to exfiltrate SSH keys, AWS/GCP/Azure creds, Kubernetes configs, git credentials, env vars (all your API keys), shell history, crypto wallets, SSL private keys, CI/CD secrets, database passwords. LiteLLM itself has 97 million downloads per month which is already terrible, but much worse, the contagion spreads to any project that depends on litellm. For example, if you did `pip install dspy` (which depended on litellm>=1.64.0), you'd also be pwnd. Same for any other large project that depended on litellm. Afaict the poisoned version was up for only less than ~1 hour. The attack had a bug which led to its discovery - Callum McMahon was using an MCP plugin inside Cursor that pulled in litellm as a transitive dependency. When litellm 1.82.8 installed, their machine ran out of RAM and crashed. So if the attacker didn't vibe code this attack it could have been undetected for many days or weeks. Supply chain attacks like this are basically the scariest thing imaginable in modern software. Every time you install any depedency you could be pulling in a poisoned package anywhere deep inside its entire depedency tree. This is especially risky with large projects that might have lots and lots of dependencies. The credentials that do get stolen in each attack can then be used to take over more accounts and compromise more packages. Classical software engineering would have you believe that dependencies are good (we're building pyramids from bricks), but imo this has to be re-evaluated, and it's why I've been so growingly averse to them, preferring to use LLMs to "yoink" functionality when it's simple enough and possible.
Daniel Hnyk@hnykda

LiteLLM HAS BEEN COMPROMISED, DO NOT UPDATE. We just discovered that LiteLLM pypi release 1.82.8. It has been compromised, it contains litellm_init.pth with base64 encoded instructions to send all the credentials it can find to remote server + self-replicate. link below

@WallStreetApes Probably went to the ER and got an emergency fee. But the bigger issue is she'll blame Cigna for not covering it when the hospitals shouldn't be charging those prices to begin with, which causes the insurance companies to push back. The doctors/hospitals are the #1 problem.

One additional point is the game is just a three point shooting contest now. It’s pretty much pick and rolls that lead to dunks or threes on every possession.

NBA ratings are at multi-decade lows for the NBA Finals. The NBA’s all time most watched game was in 1998. This year the NCAA tourney is setting all time record viewership. The Super Bowl all time high was two years ago. Why has NBA tanked while other leagues soared? Vote below.

“America will never give up the Moon again." That’s not a slogan, that's a national commitment backed by monthly equipment landings, astronaut rotations every six months, and a permanent base on the lunar surface. @NASAAdmin and @realDonaldTrump are dead serious about this.
Breaking911@Breaking911

BREAKING: NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman announces plans to build a PERMANENT U.S. base on the Moon—the plan rolls out in three phases: rover and tech deployments, semi-habitable infrastructure for astronauts, and ultimately a permanent human presence on the lunar surface. Isaacman called it “humanity’s first permanent surface outpost beyond Earth."
