A reminder that if you want to learn F1, know more than your mates, sharpen your overall knowledge of the sport, or boost your betting returns, give this account a follow. Currently ranked 561st in the world on the F1 predictor—placing me in the top 0.12% globally. Mercedes has taken every pole this season, but that didn’t stop me from picking Norris today. How did I know? I watch every session. I analyze lap times, sector times, and historical trends. The best part? I post all of it right here on X for free. #F1 #F1Stats #HungarianGP

I don’t think there’s a conflict of interest. He’s never denied there can’t be real overtaking, just that 99% of the action we see on the track is artificial. With this overtake the straight mode is largely irrelevant because all cars are using it. I think LH would’ve had overtake mode too from being behind Lawson at the detection. Given the overtakes we have seen this season, this is probably as “real” as it gets, hence the happiness. Just one driver committing to a move on the brakes, which is surely what everyone wants.

@WillTracksF1 But he was (rightly) so chuffed with the overtake he mentioned it in his podium interview. There's a conflict between congratulating himself on the overtake against his previous comments, no? I honestly expected him to say it was just the way these car works & dismiss it

@WillTracksF1 @formularacers_ @NextgenAuto He wasn’t even that bad in the first 10 races of 2025. The qualifying h2h and race h2h between him and Piastri was 6-4. Piastri’s absolute peak is slightly beating a struggling Norris.

🚨 | Lando Norris says he is performing better than when he became Champion: "I feel like I've driven better in the first half of this season, than I probably was at this stage last year. "But unfortunately, I'm not leading the Championship." [@NextgenAuto]

@FormulaValy Here’s a fun one. If points were given out for each Qualifying segment… Sprints not included.

But we have to move in a direction whereby those tight grids are far more common. That’s part of the reason the cost cap was bought in, as well as wind tunnel hours based on championship standings and now ADUO, to tighten the pack. Yeh sure, there have been far worse, but even the last big aero regulation change in 2017 was not this bad.

@WillTracksF1 @Unpaid1ntern The GE cars were the only regulation in F1's history that had the field that stupidity packed. The current spread is not much different from previous years outside of that.

That’s not the point though and you are massively missing the mark. Nobody seriously said Leclerc would beat Lewis in every race, that’s a near on impossibility so any remark referring to that can be safely ignored. Leclerc isn’t having a bad season, he had a run of a few poor races, amplified by reliability issues, which was the sandwich filling for good runs of races, Australia - Miami and now Silverstone to Hungary. His best season was probably 2024, especially the second half where he took two wins. It was a Norris vs Verstappen title fight and he outscored both during the run in, and was the sole reason Ferrari nearly pinched the constructors title. This is not a diss on Hamilton, who is having a fantastic season, but some of the claims from his corner of the internet are just wildly incorrect and deserve to be called out.

These narratives must stop. Monaco - There was an issue, it didn’t cost him any places, he wasn’t the only driver penalised. Silverstone - Not moving outside the grid box isn’t the rule. There was movement, certain penalty. Spa - Russell’s comments are irrelevant. Given the current racing rules, certain penalty. Was reduced to 5 seconds from 10 as it was the first lap. Hungary - Blocking in qualifying is always a penalty. Ferrari mainly at fault, but Lewis not blameless given he overtook Piastri in the final sector and would’ve known he was close behind starting a lap. Hungary - Speeding in the pit lane is black and white. Certain penalty. Every single decision has been completely correct.
Sid 💙⚽️🏎@Sid_footyF1

Bullshit penalties: 🇲🇨 Monaco - complete nonsense 🇬🇧 Silverstone - he didn't move outside his gridbox 🇧🇪 Spa - Even Russell admitted it was a racing incident 🇭🇺 Hungary - Ferrari radio fuckup 🇭🇺 Hungary - complete nonsense Lewis has been targeted rather than rightfully punished

I disagree. He got lucky to end up at Mercedes after a fairly average stint at Williams. During his time at Mercedes, he immediately allowed himself to be walked all over by the team and his team mate. He’s very fortunate the Mercedes was so dominant during that period, because on a pure driving level he’s not close to Verstappen, Vettel, Raikkonen, Leclerc and Ricciardo who filled the seats of the other competitive cars during that period. He would show up perhaps once every 6/7 races and maybe once every 2/3 qualifying sessions but overall never warranted the Mercedes seat for that long. I think Sakhir 2020 was very telling, that Russell was able to come in and dominate him immediately. That should never happen. Furthermore, Abu Dhabi 2021 is remembered for a different reason, but what was Bottas doing that weekend when his team mate needed him most, in what was the fastest car that weekend for sure? He was totally anonymous.
